I've been doing a lot of searching and was wondering if anyone knows of a larger tank that will fit or can be modified to fit on a TT 250. Also if anyone knows if the TT shares the frame with the older modified Zongshen that is in the sticky that is running the Clarke tank for the TT 225. I would really like to increase the fuel capacity on my bike so any info the you may have would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that you're looking for a tank that fits a Honda. The TT, Hawk, and a host of others are based on the Honda XR150L. Some of the bits are based on other Honda models but the tank is from the XR. Check the diagram at the link;

Someone here fitted a DR650 tank to a Hawk or similar bike. It may be worth a look. Clarke and Acerbis make larger tanks for the DR650.

Thanks for the replies. I looked under CRF 150 and the largest I found is the size that the TT already has. I'll have to look into the DR route.

The TT has a 2.9 gallon tank and I've seen some 4.2 gallon tanks for DR 250 and 350 Suzuki's so if I could do something like that it would be great. On my commute with the 45 tooth sprocket I'm getting between 130 and 140 miles per tank depending on how spirited my riding is. Which is about 20 miles each way at speeds of 45 to 60 mph for the majority of it. I'd like to increase the range because I'm wanting to do some longer rides with some off-road exploring thrown in.

The DR tanks, if I'm not mistaken, use two bolts to secure the tank to the frame under the seat. The Hawk uses one, correct? Spudrider bought a tank for a Yamaha XT225 for his older Zongshen that also uses one bolt. Here's the link;

I'm sure Spud will give you the dimensions so you can see if this would fit.

additional external fuel storage is the simpler option. like a 1.3 gallon rotopak
