I'm new to this site and to the idea of China Dirt Bikes all together. To be honest I didn't even know China being a manufacturer of Dirtbikes in the US was something new. I didn't realize until further investigation into all of it that the "Big Four" were all Japanese either. I learned a lot from this site in just a day.
I'm pretty new to the two wheel scene, and was lookin to get my first bike; but I was leaning toward a crotch rocket. My family being concerned talked me into getting a dirt bike and learning the dynamics of shifting with a clutch and riding two wheels, and getting the experience of it all before I took to the streets; so I appeased them.
I couldn't bring myself to paying $2,500 for a used dirt bike though. Locally that was the cheapest I could find a 250 for. All brand Names. I searched Cycletrader, and found nothing -used or new - for anything less than 1,600 in a 50 mile radius. So I started thinking outside of brand names, and when I went to Craigslist, I found something called a Pit Bike. The pit bike was smaller than what I wanted, but I visited the site of the dealer and found just what I was looking for.
VX250PR 250cc Dirt Bike with Perimeter Frame
It was in the price range, the size, and color I wanted (Yeah, color matters...it might be just a practice bike, but its got to have SOME style).
The site was MXmotorsports.us
Obviously I was little concerned since its an internet company and I've never heard of a VIVA before. I sent them an email (they have a Wellington warehouse in FL, closer to where I live) and a representative from their Florida headquarters gave me a call. He was an awesome guy and answered all my questions.
He said that all the parts are also available through them, and they had a 30 day warranty, anything broke just ship it back.
Can't beat the deal I got though. A 250cc Dirt bike, brand new, for $1199.00, plus tax...and with FREE shipping?!
The dirt bike should arrive sometime this week. Unfortunately I won't be there when it does, as I have a job, but when it does, I'll be sure to take pics and update you all on my progress with it, and my experience with this company which also has a California base of operations.

That looks like a nice bike at a good price. It appears to be the smaller wheeled version which is probably good for a beginner.
Others have the VIVA 250 here.

Your family is very wise. Too many first timers jump on a Ninja and become guard rail graffiti.

you have someone to take the bike for you when it arrives at your house i hope...they usually make someone sign for it
that is a good looking bike, that model is getting increasingly popular on this site lol
i have a feeling that seat might be a little higher than 31.5 inches though...
best of luck setting it up, and check the setup/prep sticky thread which is located in the dual sport forum (i think)

Yeah, I've got my little old Great-Grandmother that stays home all day signing for it when it arrives.
The one being sold through this company has a 19/16 set up on the wheels, so I guess that should make the seat height a lot shorter than the average 21/19 set up. Which is good for me, cause I'm only 5'9", and the last time I sat on a 250...well...Lets just say I couldn't really SIT, I had to lean on one toe to touch the ground.
I'm pretty light too, 147lbs, so I don't see my weight being able to compress the shock a lot to bring the bike's suspension down.
I think that bike is awesome looking, I just hope is lasts me till I go street. Over time I'll do some of the same upgrades others on this site have done.
Pretty much everything I know right now is from this site. So... Thanks to all you for sharing because you have expanded my knowledge of everything from cheap bolts and screws to carbeurators and engines.
I really appreciate this site and all of you on it!

DARK,
Are u going to street legal this bike??? You may have a problem in FLA with the 19\16 set up, not considered FULL SIZE in Tallahassee...
If your driver is alone, your Great Grandma is going to have to help unload your 300+# bike or they'll try another day... Not trying to ruin your day, just being factual, Sorry...

My first bike (125cc) came on a semi trailer that had no lift gate. the driver and i had to lift it out of the trailer and push it into my garage.
When my second bike (200cc) was delivered, i had my dads old truck on hand so we could slide it from the semi trailer directly into our truck.
luckily for me, the guy came with a semi that had a liftgate and he had the bike on a pallette and was even prepared enough to bring a pallette jack, so all i had to do was watch him wheel that bad boy right into my garage.
both were delivered by the same shipping company (estes express)
i'd try to get ahold of the shipping company that's delivering yours to see if they can deliver with a liftgate, or maybe bribe a friend to help with the unload process...better yet, two friends

I had no considered that they would make a delivery on a truck without a liftgate. I'll have to look into that now, and see if I can't pinpoint the acctual delivery date. It isn't so easy for me to get away from work, but I have plenty of family that stays at home all day and they're capable of lifting such a load.
As to making the bike street legal, no. This bike is strictly a teacher. I want the feel and experience of riding so that when I buy a street bike, I will be making an informed decision, rather than going in as a complete ditz and just buying one that looks nice. I need to know, too, how to operate the bike so that when I go for the testing I dont have to pay 90 bucks to take the KICKSTART class that introduces you to the bike. I know $1200 compared to $90 is quite a throw, but that 90 bucks is for only one day...while that 1200 will last me many many many days, and train me better than one ever could, plus be a form of entertainment and fun.
Thanks for the input though guys!

hope that works out ok i bought a scooter from them and only got like 599 miles before it died here is the story...
I bought a product from mxmotorsports (www.mxmotorsports.us) (west palm beach fla.) on November 8th it shipped November 13th I received it around November 17 or November 18th with missing parts and promptly started calling emailing etc for parts I had several problems registering the bike with Dmv but finally did.
After insurance and 120.00 in fees and still no parts from mxmotorsports the bike ran for 599 miles before the radiator fan failed temp gauged was maxed out and no fan working and the bike wheezed, coughed and spit out oil and water on my porch.
After this it would not start at all with keys with the remote it would turnover but not start the rings and or piston are probably burned out radiator fan and what ever parts in that system and maybe the piston not to mention what vehicle scooter motorcycle or whatever could ever be trusted after such a sight blowing a engine after 599 miles more then likely the engine is going to have to be rebuilt.
I have attempted to contact Rick Marabini November 12 14 17 19 by phone and email and have parts request since November 17 November 19 and December 19 and now February 13th oh and I contacted him by phone on January 19 also and emailed him I then tried to contact a local TV station and he told me he was unaware that I had contacted him in 2 months and suddenly wanted to talk when she contacted by email.
I have contacted him again but I believe this is only lip service and he will soon ignore my emails phone calls and voice mails once again as he has in the past I have attempted to go through the credit card and this is slow but I am having trouble because i am on social security disability and no car and I have to rent and transport the bike to a shop to get repair estimates and at this time I am paying for repairs on the bike this bike was supposed to replace.
So I have something to drive at all of course Mr. Marabini is no hurry of course he has his money and he has a business to run more people to defraud. I have no doubt there are other people that have problems with this gentleman or his products.
so i have contacted the better business bureau of southern fla and several other places including my credit card company the attorney general of fla and everybody i can think of. in the end i think its better to deal with a local dealer

thats great good luck i hope rick will work with me and get mine fixed or maybe a credit or something so far he just seems to want to blame it on sunl the guys that make the bike or me i even found out at the sunl site that the dealer has the reasponsibility to order parts and deal with the parts but rick just wants me to send it to sunl here is a copy of the waranty i found ...
Authorized SunL Dealer* Responsibilities:
Authorized warranty repairs are at no charge to consumer for parts or labor.
SunL Dealers receive credited for replacement parts purchased from SunL Group Inc,upon return of defective part removed from vehicle via RMA.
Any replacement parts will be unused, unless otherwise stated.
Warranty terms and rights may vary from state to state.
Any implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose shall be limited to the duration of this written warranty.
All SunL products require an initial dealer pre-delivery inspection and set up to ensure proper operation and safety.
Warranty starts from date of purchase by the consumer from their SunL Group Inc. dealer for all SunL Group Inc. products. During the warranty policy period, SunL Group Inc. will only cover all warranty parts and labor.
The dealer is required to order parts for all warranty work performed and once the work is completed, the dealer should submit a warranty claim for full labor reimbursement within 5 working days.
and yet rick wants me to send it to sunl although im sure why you can see in this when the buyer purchases it sunl puts the responsability over to the dealer which would be rick to get parts and handle all repairs and exchanges at least thats how i read it .. i will continue to hope and pray that somehow my bike may work eventully ...:(

did you get a chance to ride you atv much yet ? how hard was the setup did you have to put oil and all in it or did it come ready to go .. not sure if its the same for your brand but you might want to get a mechanic to check it out so the warranty won't be voided i think if i woulda done that i might have had the labor free acording to the sunl lady when they ship it in a crate to your house sometimes it voids the labor part of the warraty if not all of some warranties its a good idea to check it out or ask check your manufactor website or ask rick !!

02-25-2008, 05:43 PM
this is the way they list it on sunl for example check it out...
SELLING A UNIT IN THE CRATE OR WITHOUT INITIAL DEALER PRO-DELIVERY INSPECTION AND SET-UP VOIDS ALL WARRANTY COVERAGE! *To be an Authorized SUNL Dealer, you must have a valid dealer agreement signed by the General Manager of SunL Group Inc. 8551 Esters Blvd, Irving, TX 75063. This document is effective 2/11/2008
basicly if the dealer does not set it up or if the ship it in a crate and no mechanic sets it up and checks it out they can void all waranties
so its a good idea to get a mechanic to check it out to cover your bases !!

yeah this is on the roketa site
http://www.roketa.com/information/13.shtml
COVERAGE AND LIMITATIONS: You must have a professional mechanic (any small engine repair shop, motorcycle shop, or local auto repair shop) or an authorized Goldenvale Dealer assemble your new motorized vehicle and do the prep work to assure your is in good working condition. You will need to provide proof of this when filing a warranty claim, so keep your receipts
THIS AGREEMENT AND LIMITED WARRANTY IS VOID IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS TRUE:
• THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT USE A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC (SMALL ENGINE REPAIR SHOP, MOTORCYCLE SHOP, OR AUTO REPAIR SHOP) OR AN AUTHORIZED GOLDENVALE DEALER TO ASSEMBLE AND PREP THE PRODUCT PRIOR TO OPERATION. Proof of this is required for warranty claims.
lets hope you havent used your atv and if you did you don't have any problems because possibly your warranty may be voided be careful

Always change the oil your bike is shipped with, its not good stuff, they just put in in there to keeps things protected from rust, even on roketa warranty paper i had to fill out and send to them, it says if you dont put us brand oil in the bike your warrenty could be void!

shoot i didnt get any warranty stuff with my bike i had to look it up on the website to see the actual details i looked through 2 manuals and all the things that came with the bike when it was shipped in fact it was actually missing a few parts nothing major put a few piecies that attach to the plactic frame which i have been trying get through either sunl or the dealer. didnt think to look about looking at the full details of the warranty till there was a problem guess thats why i hoped the same thing wouldnt happen to other people when i saw that they could loose there warranty all together didnt now such a thing was possible in sales today. usually when you buy a bike locally a warranty is allways there and you know 20,000 miles just pops on the bike as long as you do your job and change oil and such ive owned several bikes over the years mopeds motorcyles dirt bikes and never really had a problem well except maybe a girelli i bought for 200 dollars at 15 years old and even that ran for a couple years before dieing hehe this is my first experience with a bike just up and dieing at only 599 miles really to me a total shock. now i guess i am just hoping i can get it back on the road eventually it was supposed to replace a older bike and now its just sitting hehe oh well i guess thats the cards i got dealt gotta move on..
