Has anyone tried installing this engine on a RPS hawk yet?
I was thinking of purchasing one but I was hoping that someone might have done it already.

Got a link? Probably not epa approved. Hard to smuggle , Trump has messed up the "cross border trade".:hehe:

It's a whopping 14 hp ,20 ft lbs torque ,pretty sure the hawk is 14.5 hp and unsure of torque .

Hey Bruce's
Thanks for the heads up, I didn't bother to look at the specs. I saw 300cc and I got excited 😂😂😂

I don't know the torque of the Hawk ,so it may or may not be an upgrade ,but generally a Chinese engine that size is about $5-650.00 ,not terrible money ,but I would hope there is some power gains if you are going to spend 50% of your bikes cost on it .

it's a nice improvement for the 50 cc's you get. The link shows the power in KW.

14 kilowatts = 18.774 horsepower.

Although, isn't the Hawk, like-16 HP?

Maybe after intake, exhaust and carb mods.

The engine is 23%
bigger in displacement, so roughly 22-24% more torque. A sizable increase...ARH

My only real concern with trying to fit that motor in a hawk is the fitment. That counter balancer sticks out in an area where it will probably be friends with the frame.

That's what I thought Megadan. I would jump on it and experiment if the power gained would be significant but according to the specs it's not worth the time and money

If I were going to try and shove another motor in a hawk and spend almost as much doing so as the bike itself, I would try for a Loncin/Klung water cooled 300cc dohc 4 valve. Similar dimensions and mount points as the 167fmm and about 29 to 32hp, and a good strong toque curve. That said, you are looking at at least a grand for the engine setup, then you have to figure oul the exhaust, and cooling side of things. By that point you have spent nearly as much as a Pitster Lxr250f, but without the suspension and efi behind it. Thats why most people dont bother too much with swaps.

That said, if I had a hawk that blew a motor, extra money, and some time on my hands....

I am just going to try and get the most out of the stock motor. I just purchased a new head assembly to port and polish, and maybe deck it a little bit. My goal is 18 to 20 whp.which I think is more than plenty for a hawk.
