What is the best way to put the chain together, clip or rivet?

Imho, clip. Easy on, easy off.

Clip for ease. technically a rivet is "better" but I have never had a clip fail.
I'm with Megadan and others. Even on my most powerful bikes, I've never had a clip fail. I thought it was funny how the mighty fire-breather 250 in the RX3 came with a continuous, clipless chain.

I run rivet on my Kz 1000 and clip on my TT 250. The Kz has over 100 hp more than the TT so I figured I'd play it safe since I actually did lose a clip on my GS 450S years ago. I mainly have stuck with the clip on the TT mainly because the chains that I've bought for it have all came with a clip style master link.
