Pretty neat, wonder if it makes it across the lake. Culc, any thing on "the list"?

Wonder where that design came from.....
Honda's XRE300 uses the DOHC , 6 speed , 26HP , injected CBR300 motor...
was first seen as the XRE250 out of the Honda Brazil plant...

It has not been updated since April:

https://www.epa.gov/compliance-and-fuel-economy-data/annual-certification-test-data-vehicles-and-engines

This company does not look familiar, either. Sorry, does not look like we will get this beast anytime soon.

The 'ray of hope' is that one can put up the EPA testing money and become an importer, but one would also hope the engine can pass EPA in the first place. I guess the loophole that RPS uses for the Hawk would be a cheaper route, and less strenuous, but the bikes are also hit or miss when it comes to street registration depending on state or even county (i.e. Georgia).

It is a bit underpowered for its displacement in the horsepower department at 24hp but almost 23lb-ft of torque at 4500rpm, that thing could freight train up a hill at idle. That motor only has 8.8:1 compression, so it is likely designed and tuned for utility duty and a long life in a different type of vehicle, like a buggy or Trike truck. It will still do highway speed, and won't struggle as much if it gets loaded down. Look at the Suzuki S40 engine, 650cc single with 31hp as a good comparison. Not fast, but still a great bike.

Personally, I would love to be able to purchase a shineray xy250gy-2, but it seems on Australia gets those guys.

If you look at the 2017 EPA list of 'highway' motorcycles under the manufacturer 'SRM' on the EPA list, the 400cc Shineray is actually certified for the US! Genuine Scooters plan to bring in a retro-looking 400 (like the Yamaha SR400), and since the engine is near-identical to the enduro, they both fall under the same EPA certificate. However, it would take someone...anyone, to call up Shineray and order a container or two of the Shineray enduros! Anyone? Someone??

That's the one I have, it's been a good bike so far, you can get it new for $1800, a guy made a trip from Costa Rica down to Bolivia on that bike, 18000 kilometers, mine has 17000km on the clock already.

I wonder which engine is the base for the 400cc :hmm:

I know I kind of feel like a test pilot pushing my Hawk past 60mph, so I'm pretty sure a few extra horses, even if not dialed into to the power curve just right, would be a really "nice to have."

This class of bike seems to be missing here in the US - somewhere between the entry Enduros we all know and love here, and where the RX3 starts on the adventure class side.

I would really give this type of machine a good look if they start to show up here in the US. I think that little extra power would really smooth out some of the limitations when pushing the smaller 229cc to do things they really aren't made for, but still not add all that much more weight. A little more power like a 450cc class dirt bike, without all the extra weight of a bigger dual sport like a BMW or KTM. Maybe some day.

Seems like I read on that xcross company site that they have bbeen building bikes in Chongqing for 10 years. Just more untouchable stuff.

Be nice in a rx3 with the fuel injection.

Genuine has been promising to sell a version of the 400cc ShinerRay in the US for well over a year, but it still hasn't made it to the showroom. Genuine blames the emission certification process. I'm skeptical.
