they advertise it as a trials bike..That would be OK for playing at trials, if everyone used the same machine. But for competing in a real trials, it has the wrong wheels, and the wrong tires. And the steering head angle is too shallow - should be 21-22 degrees. And I'm guessing it's too heavy. Yes, it looks good. But it needs more than that to stand a chance on a trials course...ARH

I would wonder how the chinese frame would hold up to real trials riding as its done these days. I used to play at trials when I was a kid, on a Suzuki TC90 with a switchable high and low range gearbox. It was NOTHING like the kind of abuse I see the pro trials riders do these days. I mean that kind of tricking is insane; demands a lot from both rider and machine. I can picture a non-pro frame or suspension just busting to pieces.

no not for competition, just for messing around, obviously a new gasgas, ossa , etc, would overwhelm the chinese bike. but it would be alot of fun to play on.

If I was gonna compete id drop 8-10k on a bike meant for competition. and a pile on lessons as well.

I would love to take some lessons anyway, its obvious how much those skills can help in every situation.

I live in western new york and cant even find a used old school trials bike to play on. doesent seem to be very popular in this area, but im still looking, I really want to gain some of those skills.

that bike is a bit different from the magician, exhaust comming out the center under the fender is one I noticed right away. wonder if we will be seeing a magician 2.0

There was a Chinese trials bike, sort of, the Roketa RK200E5. It's a clone of the Beta Alp 200. One of those bikes that's supposed to be a street legal trials, enduro, compromise.

The Magician is loosely based on a trails bike. That's why it has the low seat and the upswept tank. It's not a trails bike tho, just a designer's interpretation of what a streetable trails bike should be.

That trials version has some pretty nice features though. True 250cc OHC motor with just shy of 22hp, and that big single LED headlight is kind of cool, as is the under tail exhaust.

He has world class trials riders come in every year to teach trials riding. I think he lives in central NY. He mostly builds 200 pound BSA 250's and 300's. He has lots of videos on youtube, some of which are lessons on trials riding. His site is Britannia Motorcycles. He is real strong on show and tell trials bike building. This is the guy that I recommended about wheel building....ARH

they are becoming quite had to find in a ridable condiction...
Classic trials has become very big world wide...
as they are bikes / courses that joe avarage can ride...
top level trials these day requires a skill level way above
what the avarage rider is even close to..
top lever trials course's are even hard to walk / climb around...

I have had a few people inquirering if I want to sell my classic
trials bike... Spainish 77 Montesa Cota 348 , not being a japper
it's quite sort after..

just google "Tony Bou".... that guy is not human in what he can do on
a trials bike.. he's 10 times world champion... 5 out door & 5 indoor titles...

talk is that Honda have build him a one off 450cc Enduro bike to compete
in the Hard Enduro series this year..
be great to see him up against Jarvis , Walker , Taddy and the like..
