GY6 150CC Scooter Performance - 0-60 Time, 1/8th 1/4th Mile Time, Top Speed
Does anyone have some data to see how I am doing. I recently tried for top speed and was disappointed at 50 mph. There are some reasons I can think of:
Lean Main jet too small
I have a big windscreen too much drag.
Still breaking in at 150 miles on OD.

Your scoot will become faster after 500 miles if broken in correctly.
A mid sized wind screen gives you another couple mph top speed.

OK I found good data on YouTube, found six YouTube videos of 150cc Scooters going from standing stop to top speed. The YT posters took video of their speed-O. video time served timer. I don't recall all all SIX Scooter Makes/Models, but they were all 150cc. All scooters made 30 MPH in 4 secs or less and were close in time. At 40 MPH you started to see a spread, 6.5 to 8 seconds. From 40 to 50 mph, the stronger scooters started to show their stuff, range was 10 to 14 seconds. Some scooters topped out a little over 50 mph, others motored right up to 60 mph, but ALL scooters had slow acceleration above 50 mph, some no acceleration.... Bottom line I now have something to compare with....

My '04 TGB 151cc delivery scooter can cruise at 55+ and reach over 60, but I have never GPS certified it (that is with coworkers telling me how fast I am going, as well as my speedo which indicates 65 at times but is probably off by a few mph, but is still ticking). It has over 15,000 miles on the odometer. I bought it with 1200 miles, and have ridden it 12 months a year, 32 miles round trip daily to work (So. Arizona) for the past couple years. Recently, I started a part-time gig using it to deliver for our local version of the new couriers that have been emerging in bigger cities (Postmates, Uber Eats, Doordash, Grub Hub, etc) and delivery mostly food from restaurants. I have been piling on miles doing that. I shouldn't take if for granted, however, as TGB is only currently sending their 50cc 2 stroke scooter lineup, which leaves my 151cc as a kind of orphan. I have been contemplating getting a Lifan S Ray 150, but would probably end up with a Taotao, as a commuter since I don't want to run the delivery bike into the proverbial ground. Unless I can convince TGB to send a replacement engine from Taiwan for less than $750...
