I was just completing my first oil change on my RPS hawk 250 and whomever assembled the bike stripped out the oil plug. Does anyone happen to know the size of the plug? Only 2 miles on it =/

I am looking at one these to see if ti will fix my problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Is the threads in the engine stripped? Or is it just the plug that is stripped?

I would imagine that the dealer you purchased it from would be willing to send you a replacement plug.

I am having the worst luck getting any contact back from the people I purchased the bike from. I am missing a package, no response for my MCO request and a stripped plug.

Not sure what to do but not the best way to start out. I am glad I did an oil change after 2 miles. I was surprised at the amount of metal slivers in the oil and how dirty it was.

I believe the plug is just stripped. I think the bolt I need is a 12mm x 1.5 x 14mm? Getting a new one is no issue but verifying I am getting the right one would be helpful.

Is it this or the smaller one in the bottom?

If it's the smaller one in the bottom, this one may work. Many are the same plug from bike to bike or quad.

The second link you posted is what I need. The drain plug screws in ok until you get to the end then it just starts spinning. When i remove the plug it appears the threads closest to the washer are gone. This is usually typical of someone using a torque wrench to put the bolt on. Only 18lbs of torque is need.

For the time being I added a rubber washer and pipe tape thread to prevent any leaks until I can replace it.

Found this guy on Amazon. Should do the trick. Thanks for your help! I am doing a full LED upgrade also. Can't wait to drive this bike.

Nothing more irritating than someone who thinks they have to put both feet on the bike to tighten a bolt.

Good call on the o-ring and pipe tape. Whatever works! :-)
Next oil change, take a good look up inside the hole with a flashlight and see if the threads are good all the way up in the case. Hopefully someone didn't mung them up.

I stripped the drain hole on an ancient Yamaha 80 when I was a kid. Got the proper sized self-tapper and washer from a hardware store. Wept a little but I rode that bike to death. It wasn't a big deal. Even all the Japanese bikes leaked like hell back then.
