I changed my sprockets and chain today. I thought the front on the Bashan 250 was a 16 tooth but it was actually a 17 tooth. I put the new sprocket on anyway. The rear was a 46 and I changed it to a 43.
The difference was pretty amazing. Now, the bike does 65 at 7000 RPM. The winds were pretty bad today but I'm sure I could have got up to 70 with no problem on a calm day. All of my shifting has moved up at least five miles an hour.
Quite a difference for 3 teeth!
Plus, I looked at replacing the studs to the Honda studs. I actually ordered them but they didn't come in the mail even though USPS said that they were delivered.
It didn't really matter though once I put this new sprocket on the back it was extremely solid. The OE M sprocket wobbled around and was not tight on the Hub in anyway. I had to put the new one on the Hub with a mallet. Now it doesn't move at all. I have no concerns about it. Between the press-fit and the snap ring, it's not going anywhere.
