Total cost to get street legal in Texas!

Finally able to get to the forum, My work has been very demanding lately.

I got my Tax, Tag , Inspection and insurance just recently so I thought I'd post for comparison.

Insurance (Progressive)thu USAA = $77 a year
Inspection = $7
Title application fee = $13
Texas mobility fund = $20
Sales tax fee = $79.06
Plate sticker = $30
Reg fee-DPS = $1
cnty road bridge add-on fee = $10
Child safety fund = $1.50
Inspection fee-TLMC = $7.50
Processing and handling fee = $4.75
--------
$250.81


I think some of this is just crap they make up, Nobody at the Tag agency actually inspected my bike, it was at home.and what does TLMC stand for. where does the Child safety fund go?

I think not including the insurance cost would be a better method for comparison. Insurance varies too much between individuals and locations.

Not including insurance, Nebraska - Douglas County (the most expensive). Was $126.70.

Well fair enough Dan but I was only thinking of myself.

Total cost without insurance and inspection due to variables would be $166.81
in north texas in 2018.

So I see about $30 of crap fees.

Yeah taxes and fees. BUT......you are now legal. So enjoy the bike!
