Has it been done? Is the mounting pattern the same? Is there an easier to mount engine with a good amount of power? My engine is starting to have transmission problems I think so I'm looking for a replacement to use until I fix the one on there now. Thank you!

That one looks to have the same mounting pattern. No reason why it shouldn't work.

I have that engine on my Apollo. With the carb changed it is really awesome! I am not sure of the exhaust pipe lining up. You could probably work around that tho. I have seen them cheaper but can't remember where. I would do it tho. Power is really great from lugging to wide open.

That looks like a good motor, a couple more HP than the hawk. did not see torque output on it.

Do you think the electronics will line up and just work? Anyone know anything more powerful? I figured something with overhead cam would make more power no?

The electronics, aka stator and coil trigger, are pretty much shared between the two engines.
The OHC motors are slightly more powerful as a whole, but not by enough to warrant spending the money on a swap alone in my eyes. Where they have an advantage is in modifications. There are companies out there that make some performance parts for the OHC motors, like camshafts, that are much more easily found and installed.
Me, personally, if I were to bother spending the money on an OHC swap, I would go with somthing that came with another advantage like the Loncin RE250, which has a 6th gear and gear driven counter balancer.

Same Same but different

CG: http://mxjidian.com/index.php?s=/Product/pinfo/ptid/124
CG stator can be jammed on CB by drilling the holes to next metric size (PiTA :hehe:)
Fastdoc put one of these in an XR200 build and it rocked for him.
I believe the Apollo has the same OHC motor, as well.

They actually come with both the CG and CB engine variants depending on the version of the bike you get.
