Hi, I'm new to this site and new to my bike, a LF200GY-5. I've only had it a little over a month and it just hit the 1000 mile mark. Not long after that it started giving me trouble. It almost feels like the clutch isn't fully engaging, but that's not the top priority atm. After I upgraded the jet and the air filter to a K&N style filter, I started it up. When it's cold it still has trouble staying cranked w/o giving it throttle, but that's not as important right now. It shut off and now it won't start. The kick-start won't even move. It's almost like the engine is locked-up.
I pulled the spark-plug off, stuck it into the boot, touched it to the frame and tried to start it. There was no spark.
Also, when I try to start it, all one hears is a *click* *click* near the back of the seat mount.

Can anyone help me please? This is my first bike and really my first experience fixing any vehicle other than regular maintenance on a car.

Hi,
With the sparkplug out, use the kick stater to see if the engine is really locked up, which it could be. Anyway, with the plug out and pushing the kickstart with your hand you should be able to hear the engine turning and air whoosing in and out of the spark plug hole.
If the engine isn't locked up, the problem could be the starter soleniod. On my bike it is under the seat behind the right side cover. Also, the battery could just be to weak to crank the engine. Sometimes that will cause a click click noise. Try jumping it off a car battery. If the battery is weak or dead the motor may not be recharging the battery.
Good luck,
Paul

Ok, so I finally took the plunge and started tinkering with my bike. Turns out one of the clutch rings completely broke into a dozen or so pieces. And the assembly itself has parts broken off it so I just gotta get a whole new clutch assembly. There was a piece of one of the clutch rings lodged directly underneath the gear of the clutch assembly. I'm thinking this is what stopped the kick-start from moving because when I removed the clutch assembly it would then work.

Anyways, anyone know where I can get a clutch assembly for a LF200GY-5 Enduro? Rabbitscooters sells them for $80 shipped, but I know they upmark their inventory substantially.

*EDIT*
Turns out http://www.lifan-motorcycles-wholesale.com/lifan-GY200-parts.html sells them for approx 62 dollars shipped if you didn't purchase a bike from them. Anyone know of a better price?

Some have speculated that an XR200 clutch will work. By visual inspection the '86 VFR500 clutch that I used the clutch springs from should work. I'd check into that if I were going to replace mine.

I would look into cross-referencing honda parts first.

The XL185 bottom end looked almost identical to my lifan when I had then side by side.

Here's the plates, but I believe this guy sells the complete clutch basket also. Give him a hollar.

Ok, so I got CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE BASKET (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=160222578445) for $67 shipped with insurance.
I sent the guy an email and apparently he didn't understand what I was talking about because he sent me to a ebay page of just the clutch rings for sale. I did a search for it on his store and came up with this. I should be getting it April 1st (no joking).

Just got it into today and... was wrong size. The radius on the gear is just a little too big. Anyone wanna buy it? I think the guy will have a problem doing a refund or exchange.
