I'm guessing that's where that bracket goes? I really want to put my 17t front sprocket on but don't want to buy a new chain right now.

Yeah man, thats where everyone that I know who runs that exhaust has put it , basically it's a wonder there is that good a place seeing how the exhaust isn't made for a Clone to start with, but it looks like it was, looks damn good i think ! That's pretty much the same pipe i run ,it's pretty loud w/o the DB killer bolted in but I like it that way heheand it's easy to throw it in there if you need to!

This came in the mail today. Mikuni 26mm. I know a lot about engines but don't know anything about carbs. Any insight to pass along? http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt317/Whisky_82/thumbnail_20180909_144456_1.jpg

Take the floatbowl off , look through your jet kit i see in your picture there and put a 115 main in it.Put the floatbowl back on. Then locate your fuel mixture screw ( should be on the bottom of the carb , on the end where the air filter connects ) GENTLY close it til you feel it "seat"., then back it out 1 and a half turns .that should give you a good setting to start from, and should allow the bike to start and run. I set mine to 1-1/2 turns like this and have never had to touch it again .

The idle screw is on the side of the carb that is NOT facing the camera in your photo ,after you install the carb and crank the bike you can adjust the idle with it up or down as needed . Might want to install the slide and throttle cable ,etc with the carb not mounted yet so it will be easier to orient the slide onto the "tab guides" you will see inside the carb once you take the cap off so you can see how the slide drops in.
Make sure you seal everything during the install ( gaskets, etc) well as any air / vacuum leaks will cause no end of grief trying to figure out why it won't run right .

It's not that bad really but it is kinda intimidating the first time you do it ,if you have any buds that know anything about carbs might ask them for help but you can prolly do it, there are a few videos on YouTube as well, search "VM 22 Mikuni carb install Tune" and you should get a few Videos to watch which will help you understand what needs to be done. A lot of the install / tune carb videos are on scooter motors and not on grom clones but the mechanical part of what needs to happen is exactly the same .Bangbang scooter gang has a fair Video of how to tune the carb as well.,on youtube.

Good Luck !

I don't know... somethings 26mm, is probably 22mm, Like I said I don't know anything about carbs. I will for sure learn what I need to before I do any swapping. Wont be any rushing for this.

RedCrowRides--- Thanks for the info.

Got my 17T front sprocket and new chain on today, huge improvement over the 14T.

Yeah the 17t front makes the gears a lot "longer" ,even makes the super low 1st gear in these Grom clones usable. ,cuts the revs way down on top end, too so the engine isn't running near as hard and can also add a few mph up top.

They are great if you primarily street ride and commute and don't need a lot of low end pull for stunting or trail riding.

Stock one if you have the room at chain ten...Just push the wheel more froward.

Exhaust does sound good and I had to get a new chain to install the 17t as my wheel was all the way foward.

So what exhaust is this? Any other suggestions for hellcat?

Here is an EBaY link to the version I used https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Steel-Exhaust-Muffler-Pipe-For-Honda-Monkey-Z50-Z50J-Bikes-Skyteam-8/162713026326?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2057872.m2749.l2649
There are others available on Ebay for a bit less money, i went with the full stainless because i hates rust lol. If you poke around on this forum a bit, you can find some additional links to this same basic exhaust .

zs190 will be here fri. will have to sit until weather warms up some unfortunately, also another new exhaust GP1 from motokit.com. Will be installing new swing arm at some point. The list goes on and on.

Do you know if that pipe will work on the Hellcat? The exhaust port on mine tilts to the right. I can't tell if yours does too.

@RedCrowRides

I'm glad I saw your post about the 115 main. I recently installed a VM22 and deleted the air box. It was not running right with the 110. Hopefully 115 will get it sorted.

Dang, I thought I could use the stock chain and just push the rear tire forward a bit. Three teeth make that much difference?

I put in a 17t front sprocket and didn’t need a bigger chain, stock one worked on a boom.

It all depends, my bike was new when I put the 17th on , the tire was all the way forward, if your bike has some miles on it the chain would have stretched some. That's why no new chain was needed. The stock #420 stretches alot, I changed to a #428 for that reason.

Exhaust will fit on your bike.

I think the Hellcat comes with a 428 chain. I don't know for sure but I saw this (https://partskit.com/#/product/602780).

That's could be an upgrade but I don't know, mine didn't but the back sprocket is a 428, I thought that was strange.

I just got the 420 sprocket and compared it to the 428. The 428 is a bit thicker. I guessing if you had a 428 rear sprocket a 420 chain wouldn't fit or be really tight. IDK. It's raining out now but eventually I'll see how each one fits on the chain. If only I had something to measure the pin length and roller diameter I'd know for sure.

Update. I went out and inserted both sprockets into the chain and compared them to the rear sprocket. The rear sprocket is definitely 428, when I insert the 420 into the chain there is a lot of wiggle room. It doesn't look right. I'm guessing mine came with a 428 chain.

I could be wrong, maybe mine did come with a 428 chain
but I bought a new 428 chain w/ O rings when I changed sprockets.
