I use two similar unit as side cases and a larger 41L version for my trunk. They work well but they do leak water just a bit.

That looks like they were made to be installed that way. Have you tried install foam weather stripping? Seems like that would be an easy fix. Maybe something like this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NL4BKKG/ref=sspa_dk_detail_6?th=1

I bought two of these last time around. Turns out I don't need the second one. Anyone want it? Send me a pre-paid shipping label and its yours. PM me.

I have that exact trunk on my TT 250 and to my surprise it's held up really well. Can also fit my helmet inside ...

Thanks, that good to know. For the price I didn't know what to expect as far as quality. You have any pictures of how you mounted the base to the bike?

On mine, there is not enough of a hump thereto put any weather stripping on. I thought about some rubber edge molding but that would stop the lid from closing. It's not really much water. Maybe a few table spoons. I keep all of my gear in drybags anyway so it's not usually a big deal.

Here you go JerryHawk250. Keep in mind I don't pretend to have the knowledge or skills you do. The install looks good in my opinion, is robust, cheap and easy. See photos... Yes, I painted the screw, nuts and washers black. OCD, overkill I know. Should mention that you will leave the "X" looking trim piece off. See photos...
