I'm at a total loss and need some help. I've been fouling spark plugs with my mikuni carb. I started with a 115 jet, went down to a 105. Still fouled the plug. Went down to a 100. Still fouled. Put in a 98. Same result.
Today, I swapped out the mikuni carb for the stock carb. Fouled the plug again. I opened up the air box to check the air filter, and the filter box and filter were wet. It appeared to be oil?
Plug is not wet. Just seems to instantly turn black.
I have no idea why I'm fouling plugs and experiencing major engine hesitation through all RPMs, save idle.
Can anyone tell me what's going on?:hmm:

What's the oil leval in the sight glass?
Do you turn off the gas when it's parked?
Is the plug wet with gas or oil. This part is important.

If the filter is wet it will have the same effect as running with the choke on. It can't get air and is flooding the engine.

The spark plug is not wet. It's just completely black.
Oil is just over half in the glass.
I don't turn my gas off when parked.

Should I try running it without the air filter in?

It's black because it is running rich due to lack of air flow because of the wet filter.replace the filter.

Ya ! And a good flashlight in hand. See if there's anything coming out the crank case vent hose as you run the throttle up and down. That might be where the oils coming from.

If this is a new bike the create may have been laid on its side and oiled the filter. It doesn't take long to clog the filter when dust collects on it. I like to know how many filters I have changed on new lawn mower for the same thing.

Ahh, yes. I bet that's it.
I'll try changing the filter and see if that helps.
I'll report back.
Thanks!
