The tire sizes are weird on this one. 90/70/17 front and 120/70/17 rear. I'm guessing the front tire is a typo on CSC's site, and it's actually a 90/90/17? Either way, those are all hard sizes to find, especially in a tire that might be more suitable for gravel roads. (Okay, okay. I want to put dual sport tires and fit a high exhaust to make myself a little budget scrambler)

What tires are available and will fit this little thing?

Charles.

I believe a 110/70 and 130/70 would be good replacements. The rim width would be the determining factor. I would check with tire manufactures websites and see what rim width(s) the tires you're looking at are rated for.

someone in the San Gabriel owners group on Facebook went with Shinko 244's
4.60x17 and 3.0x17

they're available on Bike Bandit (https://www.bikebandit.com/tires-tubes/motorcycle-tires/shinko-244-motorcycle-tire/p/9877) and the CSC site right now. the last time i checked BB, they were cheaper on there, tho CSC's offers free shipping over $100, so that might even out. haven't checked BBs shipping.

EDIT: i haven't seen anyone post tires these size in the group, but when Steve from Exhaust Notes was still consulting with CSC, he posted the SG250 on YouTube the year before it came out and he'd said that the tires would be 110/70/17 and 130/70/17.
posting JIC it helps you figure out how much you'd be willing to experiment

I was interested in Shinko 705's for this bike as I feel it would fit its on-road character a little better.

I commented on this Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d77QwpfMe8) about tire sizes for this bike and CSC responded.

They confirmed that they used Shinko 244 4.60 x 17 rear and 3.0 x 17 front, and further said that "The stock sizes are 120/70/17 rear and 90/70/17 front. Any tires the 120/130 rear and 90/100 front range should fit."

120/70/17 is the smallest 17" 705. That's stock for the rear, but too big for the front. However, given the knobs on the on the 244's that they did fit to this bike, I wonder if the bigger (but knobless) 705 might fit.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw in that info in case it helps anyone as they try to determine alternative sizes.

BTW, I've read some positive things about the stock tires during some random searches on the internet. At $65 and $80, the price is sure right and I like the way they look. I'm wondering if they might be worth sticking with and just adding some higher quality inner tubes.
