Hi all,

I was out riding a couple of days ago and spun out in some mud. I ended up bending the brake pedal. I know I could try to bend it back, but does anyone know where I can buy a replacement?

Do this to your shift & coward pedal, it Limits the bend damage and it's really handy in deep ruts, against tree roots. Although if you catch good you will spin hard !

Keep in mind that the TT250 brake pedal is just slightly different in two ways, so it requires some extra work.

The simplest difference and fix is the shape of the arch near the adjuster. Easy enough, just turn the adustment bolt until it contacts the pedal.

The more important difference is the brake light switch. The TT250 pedal will either need you to drill a small hole for the Hawk switch spring. The alternative is to install a banjo bolt switch to the rear master cylinder and wire it into the Hawk's rear switch wiring. It's only 2 wires, and not that difficult.

Personally, I would change out the switch. The factory Hawk switch is prone to corrosion and dirt getting inside of it and causing it to stick/jam up. The Banjo bolt switch gets around this with ease and doesn't require adjusting.

Do the banjo bolt upgrade it's $7 and easy.

It's funny the bike comes with a helmet lock instead of a working rear brake switch. If I wasn't standing with the bike for my inspection sticker that would have failed me. The old ones work when they want too.

Although if you catch good you will spin hard !I used a similar idea on my AJS 350. But I ran the cable from around the front frame tube to the outer end of the shift and brake foot levers. That way brush didn't get caught between the lever and the transmission case, but got routed out around them. Helps with the spin problem!..ARH :p
