I even cleaned the chain and re-lubed it. It is supposed to be 65 degrees here in Charlotte today. Good day for a ride.

Never heard of anyone washing and polishing a dirt bike before. Hmm, must be one of those new hipster things?
Just kidding, I totally wiped off the tail light with my finger yesterday :)

This stuff. It really makes your bike shine and it has UV protectant. Works great on leather shoes too.
On another note I just got back from riding. I got behind 8 Harley Davidson bikes on the backroads. It was all I could do to keep up! I didn’t get much respect.

Man, the only time I remember not having dirt and mud on my bike was the first week I got it!

I washed my hawk fairly regularly. I don't care what the bike is, occasional washing is a good practice for a host of reasons.
I never did bother with polishing though. I did give it a quick wax from time to time with a spray wax. I did wipe down most of the plastics with 303 Aerospace protectant to help slow/reduce UV damage, and from time to time used wheel cleaner and a brush on the spokes and rims - usually about once a month or two. That was about the extent of my elbow grease on it, and mainly because I used it for daily commuting purposes.

After I put some character marks on it the washings will decrease. I haven’t layed it down in the dirt yet.

Why? I kept washing mine even when it had broken plastics, scrapes, and bent handle bars. They aren't scrapes and scratches, but pride marks lol.

Only time mine gets washed is after going off road in the mud. Most of the time I have to use my pressure washer because the mud is so thick and caked up on it.
Besides that I have a bottle of spray wash and wax that I got as a Christmas gift to cleans off road film and dust once and a while.

Some of the guys from work are wanting to go to Carolina Adventure World when it warms up a little. That would be fun!
