Valves and the measurements for valves

The resource guide says "Valve lash specs for these engines are stated as .003" Plus or Minus .001". Most of us run .003" intake and .004" exhaust".

is that MM or what? My feeler guage says

Motocheeze says .002 on the exhaust. Buncha other videos say something else like .007.

What should I aim for? .003 and .004?

What should I aim for? .003 and .004?.003 intake, .004 exhaust is the measurement in inches. That is the setting I recommend...ARH :)

The actual specification for CG engines is .003in. Plus or minus .001in. For both valves. Many of us run the exhaust valve .001 bigger because exhaust valves expand a tad more due to the heat.

You can also run .002in. without an issue. Most people run it that way to try and quiet down the valvetrain noise. The catch is that you will need to be on top of your valve checks when you run that tight.

The exhaust value is in the front. Since that is where the exhaust pipe is,
and the back is the intake where the carb is
