Sorry for the bad language!

Bike got stolen Saturday nite. Called the Sheriff Sunday when I discovered it missing, and the deputies came out and took a report.

So at 0230 this morning I get a call from dispatch, Holy C!@p THEY ARE CHASING THE SCUMBAG NOT 2 MILES FROM WHERE I LIVE. Perp dumps the bike and dashes out into the woods, sheriffs and local police cordon off the area and bring in the dogs to search

I get out to the location and find the bike in the ditch. look it over and the A$$ WIPES that stole it spray painted all the red parts black they also pulled the ignition out and broke the key cylinder off and used a screw drriver to turn the bike on.

I gave it a quick once over checked the oil and chain and brakes, push the starter and it turned over for about 15 sec, and STARTED! some oil smoke from being dumped in the ditch but otherwise ok. Sheriff's deputies release it to me and I ride it home (did i mention it was 20 degrees out).

so in the light of day today looking over things, the plastic on the tank (rt hand side) is broken and the rear tail piece is broken the license plate light is broken and the big thing is the broken ignition switch and however it is mounted to the top triple tree is missing.

So now i'm in search of parts, anyone have part numbers for the ignition switch and mounting hardware?

I forgot to add, it is a 2016 RPS Hawk 250

Thanks for listening

I feel for ya, I've had 2 stolen over the years. The worst was my neighbor, I had the bike chained to a railing in my stairwell. He cut the chain with a hacksaw, broke the steering lock and forced the key switch a screwdriver. He then got really drunk and crashed the bike into a gas station in a town 40 miles away at high speed. I got the bike back but there was no fixing it, everything including the frame was bent. He got a 6 month suspended sentence, probation, and was ordered to pay me and the station owner restitution. We never saw a dime of that money and he never served any time.

Did your bike get stolen?

Yep sure did!

And yep I'm lucky and the local sheriff's department found it, a little banged up and a broken ignition switch and a really shmitty paint job.

It sucks that your bike got stolen and banged up but glad you got it back. Hope they catch the piece of @^*#

As far as parts the plastics(not Red) and ignition switch from the TT250 should fit. Or at your own risk you can get it from TXpowersports or 360PowerSports .

This is what I love about the South. If you were in CA, they would have sent an intern out in an old Ford Escort to take a report and you'd never hear from them again.

Congrats on its return and it's good to see that there are still places that treat "Bad Guys" like bad guys.

No money and barely any time spent in jail for driving and causing an accident with a stolen vehicle while intoxicated on the booze... but if they pulled the guy over, sober, while having a little bit of medical cannabis in his possession driving his own vehicle... >:( the world we live in...

Did you hear back on what the dogs found on their hunt? Did they get any extra "bones" to chew on?

Nope, have not heard anything from Sheriff's dept, the said that if perp was caught I would be summoned for court as the victim.

Now I'm going to need some parts, anyone have any leads on the plastic tank parts, the license plate light cover, seat cover, and most importantly, the ignition switch w/key and mounting hardware for it?

Thanks all for the well wishes!

You should be able to find everything you need here and what you can't find parts from the CSC TT250 should fit. https://www.360powersports.com/category-s/150.htm

CSC TT250 parts are a little less in cost and probably a better quality.

Well, still no word on Thief, but did get a new plate today, I was expecting a crapton of paperwork at tax office, but all they needed was the report number and they gave me a new tag **FREE**.

 Probably the only free thing the govt will ever give me!

you know you could do away with the key switch and wire in a start button hid out of the way somewhere and a single throw switch to turn the power on hid somewhere else that is easy to get to. probably be harder to steal than have a key switch and a whole bunch cheaper.....cause im just cheap.:thanks:

If you ever wanted to make any motorcycle thief proof you could tuck a RFID based relay somewhere up in the seat or battery space and have the crypto-dongle on your key-ring, or just set an accelerometer based alarm on top of the bike that runs off internal batteries..

These china bikes you can properly hotwire with two wires, and the lock cylinder itself is a single-sided wafer lock made from brittle metal. I've accidentally pulled the lock core out on mine with a normal use case..

No matter what you do with tricks and technology, always remember that these bikes can just be picked up and tossed in the back of a van or truck.

Ok folks, I need some assistance with the plastic body parts for mu hawk. i'm slowly getting them stripped and cleaned but several are broken. can I use the TT250 headlight/fairing and tank panels and tail pieces? if not where can i get the OEM from. RPS has not responded to my emails.

Thanks for the assistance!

Yes, they will fit. More than likely a better plastic too. TXpowersports, 360pwersports or RPS are to only two places I know of to get OEM parts.

the tank plastics are a little different on the tt250 vs the hawk. all the other plastics are directly interchangeable. The tt250 plastics are a better quality for sure. They are actual dirtbike plastics. Though the tt250 plastics are painted.

I've broke a front fender, and a side piece that was stock hawks, they shattered on impact. However my tt250 side plastics and front fender have survived much tougher stuff with only scratches. The front fender was in a head on crash, and it was only missing paint but still in shape.

Out of shear boredom I've searched too the ends of the Internet looking for Hawk plastic. Haosen's web page is down and the plastics molding company (info molded into the plastic on the bike) looks to be just a generic moldings company. Allibabbba and the like yield nothing, no parts. I'd say CSC is your best bet. RPS is an economic miracle as they try their level best to piss off their customers. I'd buy a ton of parts if someone would vend them reasonably.

I can only get maybe orange and the older style smaller face head light
Shipping would get expensive and end up like USA prices I’d say

I'm reminded of the GY6 clone scooter communities of the early two-thousands here.. It was in most cases impossible to source plastics no matter what you were willing to spend.. The plastics were extremely brittle too..

How are the tank plastics different, will they mount to the tank or are they completely different mounting?
