Just got a mikuni carb and my throttle cable is over 1/2 inch to short. Its adjusted all the way any ideas this thing is killing me.

Figured it out it was a carb cap issue, now the throttle has to much play. Better than none i guess.

there is supposed to be a tube you reuse fro the old carb that takes away the slack.

What ArizonaHellCat said ^^^^
Check YouTube ,there are a few videos showing which tube you need to reuse in order to get rid of that "slop" in the throttle, if you can't get it out with the adjusters .Search Mikuni vm22 carb swap / install ,if you can't find it post here i'll see can i find it .,I had it saved at one point .

Damn, I sold off the original carb. Is there another way to take up the slack in the throttle? The adjuster is all the way out.
