Saw this at CSC and was pleasantly surprised. Zongshen is not the manufacturer. Not sure who is. Was told it's a 300 something cc fuel injected parallel twin. Thought I would share a few pictures.

That I am sure is the UK as it is called in China - 400cc EFI single CB400SS motor in it and motor made in Taiwan.

Pretty sure I am right

Looks like two larger sized pipes to me ,I think the parallel twin claim is pretty much correct but you are the man on the ground in Riceland .

When CSC was building their own 1960s Mustang replica motorcycles, the 150cc engine they used was from Hartford Motorcycles of Taiwan. If this is a Taiwanese product, perhaps it could be from Hartford? However, nothing that 'fancy' is seen on their site...

if it is a copy of the 400/500 single it will be a twin exhaust port motor..
and the ports do look very close together...
ie.. xr / xl / ft / gb etc..

but it is hard to tell from the dark pictures..

it dose look as if it could have been styled off the Honda GB500/400..

Is this something new they are adding to the line up for this year?

I'm pretty sure that this is the bike I mentioned when you talked about the Shineray 400 in another post - it has the same engine design but Taiwan made engine in it.
I did mention that if I recall in that post.
This should be the better quality engine compared to Shineray and that is the general opinion here in China too.
I might be wrong but this bike really looks just like the UK 400 and that is a CB400SS motor Honda offered in Japan only I think it was.

There are about 4 or so different styling in the UK 400 but all a cafe racer/vintage kinda look.

 Anybody else thinking that if this is a cb 300 to 400cc fuel injected single and gets all the legal paperwork needed to be sold here then it would be perfect for a new Hawk ( TBR7, Bashan etc ) type street legal enduro bike ?

I like it. Something physically larger would be a plus.

Do you have any good photos and specs for the Shineray X5.

Sorry no - they are sold locally as a carb version but sold in Russia I think as EFi (Delphi)

For anyone curious I sent CSC an e-mail with some other questions and asked about this bike. I was told that it was just a prototype they had and that there were no plans to add to the model line up this year.

That I feel isn't a smart move as they are a pretty cool cafe style bike and popular
But yes it is RX3 price range or a little more even in China

understandable though. it takes time and money to invest in the new lines. they can't just jump in all directions at the same time. I do hope they get enough positive feedback on the prototype to bring it here in a year or two.

I'm hoping this is how it plays out because as stated above, it's a pretty sweet looking little bike. Given what I've observed as their MO in my limited time being aware of the company though it would be surprising to see CSC pump out more than one new bike a year. Last year was the SG250, this year the RX4.

If they could get this together and price it significantly lower than the Honda CBR300R's/Kawi z400's they might find themselves another niche in the market. A truly retro styled little machine with a little more oomph than the SG250 for highway/freeway riding, a few modern touches like FI, and a cost below 5k? Maybe it's a pipe dream but it's got my attention.
