Unfortunately no. It's a piranha. 751.00 shipped to my door, came with everything needed. Got a discount from the zs190 swap group on facebook. There's also a guy selling them for 650.00 on there but I wanted to purchase from the manufacturer.

Oh. I just joined the club. I see the offer for $650 shipped. 190cc GPX MOTO COMPLETE ENGINE KIT. So that is a piranha too?

Damn, I have it in the cart and i want to buy it but I just don't know if I will be able to install it. Which bike are you putting yours into?

Whisky

Its the exact same motor just a different dealer. I don't know what all comes with the $650. motor, might want to ask before buying. Its going in this

direct bolt in on all the china bikes, you use your wiring harness on your bike. there's 5 wires you have to match colors to yours plus there's lots of help on the zs facebook page if you have questions. It doesn't look to difficult to do as long as your staying with a carb. I'm also changing out the swing arm. but its not required to do.

I dont have facebook, and refuse to get one. Is there anyway to contact these guys outside of the group? Because $650 would make the swap alot better!

Can this version of the engine have the 4 valve head swapped onto it and a big bore kit installed?

Whisky
03-13-2019, 08:22 AM
Yes on the 4v head and big bore making it 212cc. As far as I know I think you have to join the group. I'm not a fan of facebook either, the only reason I go on facebook is to this group and Clone army group and that's it. They all live in Vegas so if your near there, maybe also I read on there that you can buy a clone with the 190 installed for a couple thousand, there's also a few for sale on there and they are very nice. If I lived closer I probably would have bought one of them.

I have always wondered if a Kymco K-pipe could handle this engine. That is the swap i would love to make!

you can try using the link above but I don't know if the group checks to see if your a member or not to get the discount? These guys that have these motors bought like 10 or more and paid 350.-400. ea for them and sale them for a profit, the kicker is you have to buy 10 or more. The one I bought was not from an individual person.

Yes the snow is mostly gone, so for bike, paint first. Install Grom swing arm, install 3 gallon gas tank from ssr Raskull -hope it fits. Then will start on motor swap, it will be awhile before get it all done.

How is it going? Did you get the old motor out?

Whisky
03-20-2019, 03:50 AM
No. Plan on painting today, installed new bushings in the grom swing arm on tues, will get it put back on today hopefully along with the 3 gallon gas tank from the SSR Raskull. I got to remove the front forks to do the fork mod then put bike back together so I can get it out of my shed so I have more room then I will start with the motor. It will be awhile.

Whisky

some more parts came in so Finally starting to get put back together. Grom swing arm, took the rubber bushings out and replaced with actual brass bushings from mnnthbx.com, stretched it 3" for a little more stability plus I wanted better chain adjusters, new tires. Still have to put the 3 gallon gas tank on from SSR Raskull, Grom tail light and a different tail tidy and lower it 2.5" Once that's all done then the zs190 will go in.
How it sits right now

Where did you find the SSR razkull tank?

Whisky
03-25-2019, 07:50 AM
I called a dealer in Minnesota and first they told me SSR will not sale any parts outside of a dealer but then they called back and said ssr in California would sale and ship directly to me. So in short ssr manufacturer. Tank and shipping was 104.00 the tank and sending unit was only 50. I wanted a bigger tank for the 190 since it's going to suck more gas.

Had it out today for awhile, did some more work on it, just a few little things, was going to lower it 2.5" but now I don't know if I will or not, still need to do the fork mod but was chilly out today. I did take it for a short spin, was surprised it started right up after sitting all winter, I had to charge the battery though. Took some of the stickers off, looks better I think. Rear ss brake line is a tad short so I ordered new for both, also going to change rear shock from a 2018 Kawasaki Pro 125, I heard these are pretty good and a lot better then the factory one I have.

I got mine out for a bit Saturday and rode down to a new Enduro and Moto-X Park less than 5 miles from my house that just opened up .I didn't ride on any of it just sat and watched but it was fun and met some nice people ,unfortunately the Park doesn't have any flat area that could be used as a "stunt lot" , it's strictly all dirt even the parking area.

Put some engine dress up bits on ( blue anodized valve tappet covers) and some 1" riser 's for the bars to get them up a little bit and also took the "stick out" stock front turn signals off and replaced them with flush mount LED ones to match the ones i installed on the rear.,was afraid I'd have to order a new Flasher relay due to switching over to LED but they flashed fine so that was a plus.

On Sunday the temp here dropped 20 degrees tho and raining so that was the end of that lol ,I got a lot more stuff to put on sitting here but aint doin it in the cold and rain haha.

Even when I had the stock pipe, and stock jetting, when I blasted it up and down the street, I would laugh while riding it. It was so fun and it felt like some type of secret.

Having a bigger motor on a little bike that people would confuse for a 50cc scooter.

Its been raining about every day that I have off from work but beautiful, sunny warm on the days I work, go figure. I know I can swap that motor out in just a few hrs, I will get it done at some point. Did u get a different carb or u still using the one that came in kit?

scoot newb
06-19-2019, 01:47 AM
I'm still using the carb that came with the kit but changed the jets to 38/125. It's a bit lean on WOT. Gonna try bumping it up to 130. Another member suggested using the coil that came on the kit before upping the main jet. They have different connector types so it looks like I'll have to wire in the connector from the harness that came with the kit.

hey scoot, any chance you have a caliper to measure the filter for size on your zs190? My filter came torn. aside from that all I have to do is mount my exhaust and fiddle with the clutch.

I was pretty sure it was but I didn't want to guess. I went out to measure, ended up installing a gear sensor and some how drained the battery. Since the battery was full moments before connecting the gear sensor, I thought I was blowing fuses left and right... even after removing the gear sensor. I thought I fried something and forgot all about taking a measurement. My bad.

Anyways, do you have another thread with pics of your bike? I remember you mentioned doing the swap a while back but I can't find the thread with photos?

scoot newb
06-22-2019, 03:17 PM
The gear sensor swap works fine. I have no idea what cause the instant battery drain yesterday but today i put in the sensor again, everything lit except 5th then I dropped in the 17t front sprocket. I really like it now. If only I could get the top end dialed in. Main jet and maybe a new coil... IDK

It varies depending on the throttle position. It cuts out, it seems too lean or the coil is janky. Right now I am at 38/125. I was going to try 130 and see what happens.

On, the stock motor, when I put the new carb on, it 'bogged out' at high RPM that was too rich.

The 190 just putting around without opening it up is so much more usable than the stock motor all dialed in. It is true what they say about less vibration.

FINALLY....zs190 in and running. This motor is awesome! With the 125 I didn't have to look at speed but now it's way to easy to speed, even in 5th gear it pulls, it definitely redefines the bike. Love it!!!
