Anybody using an off-road navigation unit on their Hawk or other machine? I’ve been looking at the Magellan TRX7. Pricey. Needs to work without cellular when off-road. And show all those 2-track roads most maps don’t have.
I use a Garmin Oregon 650...

I usually download maps from google maps on my iphone. Most phones have gps chips and don't require cell service if you have the map downloaded. Google maps does a pretty good job of showing most roads even in remote areas. Maybe there is a reason you don't want to use a cell phone, but it works great for me. I do want to install a charging port on my Hellcat to keep my phone charged though.

I’ve tried the offline maps with google on my 6s plus and the phone got so hot it shut off. And the resolution was minimal. Back in the day, I just used paper maps and stopped every now and then to check where I was at. I’ve gotten spoiled on in-dash units and feel a stand alone navigator would suit me best.
Garmin Montana. Pricey. But I do not use it, but I know many use it for offroad navigation on motorcycles.
I use second phone without sim card with additional app for offroad navigation.

I use a cheap cell phone, Android, with Avenza and OSMand.Works great and no cell signal required. I've also found that the magnetic charging cables work best when bouncing around off road.

Pete, I believe Mudflap is talking about Apple style charging cables with magnetic connectors - magnetic force to keep the connector at right place.
