View Full Version : 15W50 oil for summer, ok?
Hi, what you think about using 15w50 oil for summer months?
In winter I use 10w30, now I'm using 10w40 (spring and autumn), but summer temps are here, temps go up to 40 deg C, and I'm wondering about thicker oil for my pushrod CG200 (maybe even 20w50)?

15/50 will work fine during warm weather. Might be a bit thick for those cold Serbian winters.

A lot of people run (me too) 20w50 on the CG family, those who want to use expend more money goes to 10w40 or premium 10w50.
20w50 is fine and most of the cg that use it, have a long life.
But take in account that a "cold" night in Buenos Aires is 5 c and extremly cold is like 0 c. Since i been living in Europe for some years i know that 0 c for some countries is like a warm day....
For the weather you have in Serbia, i would say that a 10w40 is a great for all the stations of the year, so i don't see much point in going to a higher viscosity.
The only reason why i use 20w50, is because i'm a cheap a** :D
