I've looked into it too, the Brazilians seem to be the most into hot rodding them, and I tried to contact them on a site, with no luck. I looked at something like this: https://motos.mercadolivre.com.br/pecas-motor/comando-competicao-cg-vareta-a

I suspect they're getting those parts from China. The trick would be to figure out if it's on Taobao.

I think that they're cheap enough that we could potentially, at their discretion, have a member from South America - hint - maybe @Wild Dog ? Get some and send them Northwards?

One of the best mods I did for my ATC 200X was a hot cam and exhaust, put out surprising amounts of power for a small displacement engine.

It's a 50 / 50, some parts are from china/taiwan some made either in Argentina or Brazil.
When it comes to vehicle mfg in South America, Brazil is #1 then is Argentina. If we take Latin America, then it's Brazil, Mexico, Argentina.
Honda, Yamaha, Toyota did invest a lot of money in SA. Toyota mostly in 4 wheels vehicles, while Honda and Yamaha mostly in motorcycles.
So there are mfg that make custom parts from 0.
Also you have tuned china stuff.
For example, right now i'm starting to buff out my chonda.
-alloy rims, locally made, a bit better than the chinese ones and cheaper
-Big bore kit, is made in Taiwan but resold under an Argentinian brand, the gaskets are made here.
-New Springs for the front fork, national made for chondas with different spring rates.
-Handlebar with raiser Brazilian made.
-Silencer, national made cloned from fmf.
-Cam brazilian made.
-Alloy skid plate national made.

If you find something you like, tell me. With the current money change. Parts are very cheap for those who earns in USD, Euros...
Just to give you an idea. I paid 20 usd for the alloy skidplate

This cams are for OHV CG, they made them for 125cc to 229cc.
There you can see some pictures of them, they are priced 2700 arg pesos, which translates to about 45 usd.
I got a Brazilian one instead of an Argentinian, just because they are cheaper.

Would really love to see what sort of cam and other upgrades we could get from South America. If we would need some sort of group buy to get it going i would jump in in a heart beat. A cam and big bore upgrade would be first on my list.

If you've already got a CG250 (223), they don't make the big bore kit anymore, it was too unreliable. I think that the problem is that usually the mercado libre sellers don't want to sell overseas. Some of the cams look homemade on the Argentine site, too.

Is not that they don't want to sell overseas, hell most of them would love to sell overseas, but they don't know other language or in most case if they more than "x" quantity of engines parts, then they are going to need to get special license to sell engines parts overseas which is $$$$.
Yes going to 70mm piston is going to make the engine a grenade
I did, but it's not a very good translation
I know,google translate sometimes sucks...
The seller is just explaining the different types of cams and what kind of setup you need to get the best performance.
For example:
"*** R500 ***- LEVA PARA PICADAS DE ALTO RENDIMIENTO! --(hundir asientos,CALAR PISTON, cambiar resortes, darle mas compresion y modificar puesta a punto)
6.95 ALZADA"
Picada is a slang in Argentina for a short straight races, it's a shorter version of 1/4 mile.
Hundir asiento: ported and decked head
Calar Piston: Piston Compression Height Reduction, other way piston will hit the valves
Puesta a punto: Fine tunning the ignition.
Cambiar resortes: Change valve springs
Most of these products are made in Cordoba a Province in Argentina that have a very nice landscapes for adventure riding, hunting (Benelli made a shotgun named after Cordoba Argentina), hiking.
So they love to mod vehicles.

When you do your camshaft you should take pictures and do a work up including specs and post a review. That is beautiful riding country!
