MODS

Valves - need to be adjusted to .002 - .004 - feeler guage $5.00 USD harbor freight

Siicone fuel line - this prevents the ethanol in our gasoline from eroding the fuel line/ clogging the system.

Engine bolts - 120 and 130mm x 8mm bolts / use class 10.9 or better yet 12.9 bolts get the zinc coated ones

16t sprocket

Vm22 Mikuni carburetor

need a fuel petcock for the carb

Exhaust - CRF50 exhaust is the best? -- better than cutting the exhaust, removing baffles/cat/welding back together?

=================================================

Now a couple of questions I have is what "jets" are needed for the mikuni carb? I am at sea level..

Also, what is the information on the airbox mod

whats else is recommended? I.E. -- shocks? -- if we could get a modifications sticky with a list of mods that might be helpful.

Good idea! One member who comes to mind that would be a good contributor is Red Crow Flies. There are several others.

Might be good to specify the bike/motor in question for future reference. Jetting depends on the bike, the motor in question (each one is a little different), elevation, temperature, humidity, the cam, the head porting, compression, valve sizes, the intake and exhaust, and even the load the bike is being subjected to.

Some people could get you in the ballpark, but there isn't a concrete "this bike/motor = this set of jets". You won't have a concrete answer, you must learn how to adjust your jets to your needs. When in doubt, if you don't know what you're doing, leave it stock until you can get help.

A baseline setting that I've used for the VM22 Mikuni-clone that comes with the #90 main and #15 pilot jet is:
A #100 or #105 main jet, a #20, #22.5, or #25 pilot jet, the jet needle clip in the 3rd or 4th slot from the top, and the fuel screw turned out 1.5 to 1.75 turns OUT from seated. Because it is a fuel screw, you turn it OUT to richen it. I'm also at sea level.

See this thread. http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=24100

Some of this information is covered.

For airbox mod... this is for Groms. Because the grom clones have a carb, usually people just swap out the carb and stick a filter on the end of it. The airbox goes away completely.

For Jet size... you'll need to find someone at your elevation.

For shocks... I had a Ohlins copy. Lots of people in the ZS190 facebook group use them as well. I think someone recently on the facebook group made brackets to install an "airride" suspension.

Sprockets... pretty much what is available to a Grom. I used a 17T since the engine in the bike is a pit bike engine and seems to be geared like pitbikes are.

I would like to see a Grom clone dedicated section.

I would like to see a Grom clone dedicated section.

PM Jerryhawk 250. That was discussed a long time ago and for some reason it never did come to fruition. It definitely makes sense and it could be broken down by brands: Vader, KPMini 150, Icebear, SSR, etc.

There's already a Stick at the top of this section that information can be posted in. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=24100
