My 13 year old daughter wants to get a larger dirtbike. She trades between atv's and dirtbike. The last dirtbike she rode was a Honda XR80. Just wondering if the Redcat DZ-150 is a good reliable bike ? Any downfalls ? Heard it is basically the copy of the older XR100 is this correct ?
Any info. would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Raz

Hi Raz

The Redcat DZ-150 is a good bike, But again if you have read any posts on here lately, Redcat is Owned by Yank Sports {Tank Sports.}.

The ol Redcat Dealers used to sell a lot of the DZ-150s, if they where in the correct area for dirt bike sales.

The only thing the dealers where doing to the bikes was changing the fork oil and adding a small spacer in between the fork cap and the fork spring to stiffen up the front end.

The bike is a copy of The Honda CRF-150 not the XR-100. There are only a couple of companies that make a 150 that size. Redcat/Yank & United Motors are the only two companies that make a bike that is the same size as the Honda CRF-150. UM bikes are more expensive but they come with a better {3 Year} warranty IF the owner wants to keep up with The Oil Change Schedule that UM implements, if they don't the owner Voids the warranty.

If you have more questions please feel free to ask... If you live in Ohio I have a 2005 UM DTF-150 on sale, it's a brand new bike.

So does anything for a CRF150 work on the redcat ? Persay an aftermarket exhaust ,air filter etc. You know the drill.
Thanks for your input ,
Raz

Hi Raz

That I can't say... I don't know if the frames or exhaust opening are the same or even the air filters for that matter. I haven't had a DZ150 here, because of selling the UM brand and after 2005 UM has a performance exhaust. I have seen them but have not worked on any, same goes with The CRF150. The information I gave is from our Old Redcat Dealer Forum and Dealers I personally know.
