Looks real nice cal25,Did you elect not to put your brush guards on?or did you not get them?

I have them and decided against putting them on at the moment. There are 2 holes that are covered by the chrome cap. If I put a nut and bolt in the inboard hole, I'm afraid it would knock the bark off a knuckle. Guess a fender washer would work just as well and skip the extra hole.

I like that. I kinda wanted yellow in memory of my old Jeep.

I bet that would look really sweet with the flames gone and the white sides painted Yellow....

I painted my white plastic black and WOW what a difference....
I will always have a thing for the Yellow though.

Looks good but I don't think I could see around my shoulders with the mirrors backwards like that :)

Good point.

Bike looks great cal...but you've got your mirrors on the wrong sides of the handlebars.

The mirror's on these bike work ok but to me they do look a little odd.I am going to order a set of mirrors for mine today.

May go for one myself, if can ever get the garage mess straightened out.

What's the riding experience been like so far??

Yup...more displacement for less money in a package that I really like the looks of...seems like a no brainer.

It does look good.Yellow would be my second choice.

Yep, I screwed up when I put on the mirrors. Think I stuck them on like I saw in the pics. Noticed when I went on my first real ride that they would not work this way. Then I realised they are on backwards. Good thing I used the blue locktight and not the red!

I agree about the cheesy flames and graphics. I wish they had not clear coted them on. I think I would like to do like you did on your bike and paint them yellow after removing the flames. Let us know hoh the paint holds up. Might be worth it to order a couple of extra panels to work on. If you noticed, I already got rid of the Hi Bird logo on the seat using your technique.

cal I changed my mirors also,I think it was frostbite that mentioned that they were backwards
I actually purchased another set from ebay. They are much clearer and was only 22.00 including frieght.

Did you get your new mirrors on yet??

If so, post up a pic so we can see what they look like.

how do u get the logo off?

Cal25

Acetone was recomended to me on here. Worked very well on the logos on the seat.

Could not stand the flames on the side panels. Saw the yellow Fusion paint and thought I would give it a try. Think its going to turn out OK except I was putting the clearcoat on without enough light and got some runs. More pics when I finish

KC,

Do you like the hand gaurds on the bike??

I like the looks of them...but do you think that they are of decent quality??

kczukiman

Gimp,They are made of a thick plastic.I like them real well.I never liked the looks of brush guards but they grew on me and now it looks weird without them.
Got rid of the flames hurray :!: And the seat is clear of the hibird logo.

Cal25,

I hope you dont mind me putting this pic on your thread as it is just another view of the white sides only after being painted black.

Always trying to make Hi-Bird info easy to find here...

I like the muffler on those birds. Looks to be off a better quality than the gy2 one.

I may have to try and get one from vbike.

 Why is it mine is the only one still torn apart down to the frame.

Seriously I think I am going back at it hard core now. I just passed my 3 day bike course which killed 100% of my spare time. I bet I have maybe a total of 5 hours of experience on a bike. 8O

Plus I have a huge desire to get the 4 wheeler. Seems everytime I get my mind made up I get a well appreciated PM with other options and ideas that throws it all out the window.....

Anyone need pics of anything while I have it still torn apart?
