TBR7 flappy front fender?

I've been enjoying my new TBR7 as much as is possible while confined to my own land. One of the things which I find to be a bit of a distraction while riding has been the flappy front fender. I've pretty much decided that I'm going to fabricate a support bracket from some 1/4" UHMWPE sheeting I have laying around, just something to sandwich between the mounting bolts and underside of the fender. I would like to maintain some degree of flexability for obvious reasons.

Before I start on this project I figured I'd ask the forum if anyone else tackled this issue and if so, how?

I can confirm its "flappy" alright.

I considered dremmeling mine to make it a bit shorter and lessen the flap, alas it does not distract me enough so I left it

I put rubber washers between bolt and fender but I don't know if did anything as I have not ridden it yet! I am hoping to get the weekend off though....

I did the same Stogie. I figured that overtightening the fender bolts would do nothing to maintain the structural integrity of the fender nor would it prevent the screws from possibly backing out. I figured that the rubber compression would be a good method to prevent screws from backing out without the use of lock tight. I may still use the locktight after I get the headlight adjusted where I want it.

It needs more of a "spine" of sorts to stiffen up

There are flappy version and some version that more rigid. Flappy are better if you are doing some off road, it falls it won't break.
I had a rigid version on mine, it broke on the first fall.

I think the fender is much better now. I drilled out the main jet using a torch tip cleaner, no idea what it is now(one size up on the tip index). It runs much smoother now, far less floppyness��.

The low speed jet still needs done, it sometimes shuts off when I nail it from idle. There's no store open to get the proper jets so I'm awaiting a jet kit ordered from ebay. I can try adjusting the low speed mix screw but I'd rather just use the correct parts if I can.

I'll wait to see how floppy the fender is once it's tuned properly before I try modifications to the fender.
