EFI to carb swap?

Because of Overland Adventures post I got to digging for parts sources and it didn't leave me optimistic about CB's. I ran across a place in Denver making EFI kits but they are like 600 bucks, a 3rd or more of some of these bikes so I was wondering and thinking wouldn't it be a pretty simple process to take out the EFI system and install a good carb in it's place. I am not a mechanic but it looks like a handy guy or gal could re-plumb the fuel and air and make it run. I know I must be over looking something but what is it?

The only issue I can see is with the CDI/Ignition and how the advance
is linked to the injection....
by removing the sencers for the injection... Dose the CDI look for signals
from them... and what happens when no signals are detected ?...
Dose the ignition chance advances between the injections open and closed loops...
open and close loops are different air/fuel ratios between cruseing and accelerating...

may also need to replace the CDI unit from a non injected bike...

Just my thoughts on it....
