Hey everyone, so I got a buddy to come over yesterday and check out the valves on my Apollo and as far as he could tell there was NO gap on either one (new). Not knowing exactly what the clearance should be and every YouTube video giving a different number I decided, because I thought I read it somewhere on here, to set them at .008. It was a tight 8 and closer to 7 then 9 if that helps. I'm just wondering if this is close for at least a starting point? Thank in advance, Dean

Dean.. did it come with a manual?

Manual should indicate specs for valve lash, even a poorly worded foreign manual.

Set them between .003 and .005 , I set both of them to .004 some people will say that you have to set one bigger than the other or the specs will say that too! As I said I just did both at .004 and its running great.

To be clear it's Intake .003" and .005" Exhaust. Not mm.

It's powered by a ohc machine. The same bore & stroke honda shop manual said .1 mm (~ .004")

Also as Jerry said its inches! But haha you'll know if you set them too wide if youre hearing loud clacking noises. You should hear a low tap tap tap noise. Not too loud but not silent either. Good luck with it! I have the same bike as you know and ive went through some troubleshooting with both my china bikes so I'm glad to be of any help! The guys around here helped me a bunch if I didn't know something. Check your coil connection , sand it and tighten it down good.

Thanks everyone for all of your Input. After work yesterday i decided that I can do this as my buddy wasn't available and I just couldn't stand it anymore seeing just sitting in my garage, waiting for the throttle parts. Turns out it isn't that hard I did have the benefit of watching him do it already but yeah, got er dun set them both at .004 in.
Thanks again, Dean
