Hi all, new to the forum and new to Chinese bikes. I got rid of my Harley in hopes that getting 2 small bikes would make for a good starter option for my fiancé to start riding with me. We get 2 TaoTao Hellcat 125s delivered next week and I’m hoping I can get some insight on what I should know off the bat. I’ve heard that engine mount bolts should be replaced with hardened steel. I’ve heard that threadlocker should be used, and I’ve heard the carb may need adjustments along with gas lines that may be pinched from the shipping. Lastly I know the oil should be changed upon arrival. If I’m missing anything or anyone has good suggestions for out of the box simple mods please let me know and thank you!

Welcome aboard! :hi: I'm sure you two will have a blast on the Hellcats. There's a good bit of information in the street section on the Hellcat.

The fuel lines need to be replaced pretty quick, the ethanol in our gas will mess those chinese fuel lines up in a hurry, any silicone fuel line will work, 3/16" inch is what i used.

it's not a big deal but the factory chinese spark plugs are also really kinda terrible, i highly suggest getting replacement plugs as soon as you think about it. Other than that be sure to grease , lube etc everything in sight ,they are notorious about using little, bad quality, or no lubes anywhere during assembly., you already got the changing the crankcase oil out asap.

The HellKats are hella fun , just take your time and get the assembly done and preventive maintenance steps and you should be good.
