Hello Everybody,

Is this supposed to sit all the way down? I moved the clip all the way to bottom slot as well as rejetting to a 118 for my air filter and exhaust mods. Any help would be great!!

unscrew the throtle jet and twist the cylinder and put it back into the carb.
I think yo may have it backwards.

Yep. make sure the slot in the side of the slide is on the right side. Look close and you will see what we are talking about.
You aint the first to do it.

Naw, that ain't it, it was in the right way, can only go in one way, that gap was from the idle screw all the way in. I'll post pics if anyone wants to see. All back together and still idles way out of control, add some choke and idles down fine, so next step is the air screw on the bottom of the carb I guess? Gonna fiddle with it some more.

It can go in two ways . I and I'm sure serveral others have found that out.
If the jet cylinder is turned to the wrong side 1/2 turn from the correct way it will slide in and when the bike is started the motor will rev at a very high speed.

LMAO
You put it in the wrong way.. I guess you left that part out of your re-jetting write up thread
You have to make sure the slide goes all the way down before you put the thing back together. Take it out and look for the thin line cut in the side of the slide (there are 2), line it up to the white tip inside the carb and make sure the slide goes to the bottom. Once in make sure the throttle cable did not catch on the top lip and is seated properly in the top of the carb.

Once again you opened your mouth, or should I say ran your fingers before you read my last post. The tiny gap at the bottom of the slide is due to the idle screw being all the way in, out two turns and it sits flush.

Hello Everybody,
Yes you can put the slide in the wrong way but it is kinda obvious that it isn't right as the slide sticks out of the top of the carb about a 1/4 inch. After tinkering with it some more this morning, I found the problem. In moving the throttle cable around to reinstall the carb it had kinked, staightned it out and and it idles just fine now. Thanks to all the folks who had helpful suggestions with this.

That was going to be my next step. Throttle cable not seated into the top of the carb.
