Anybody have recommendations or opinions? Mrs. C told me I could get one after the ink has dried on the sale of Chez Fromage. And I didn’t even bring it up. Right now, I’m checking out Deere, Husky, and Cub Cadet residential mowers. I don’t need to cut a vein for a commercial mower. I’m kind of leaning towards the Cub Cadet ZT2 54.

Mrs. C even told me she’d mow if we had a zero turn. I’ll believe that when I see it.

How much are you planning on cutting? Depending on size and how quickly you're hoping to cut, there are also ride behind mowers that are pretty good, too.

hate to say it being a deere tech, but the closest thing deere has to that is a Z720E, and that retails for $6449, a fair bit more than the ZT2....
also, side note... i dont remember the landscape of la nouvelle maison du fromage but if you have slopes or hills, Z turns dont like them... LOL

Guys-An acre and I’d guess it’s 98% flat. The only slope is the ditch and the 14 year old Troy Bilt rider ain’t fond of it either.
Bogie-I checked with the local JD dealer and he only deals in commercial mowers. If I want a residential Deere, it has to come from Lowe’s.

Yeah, AHW. Moot point now, because the deck idler pulley bearing on the Troy Bilt crapped out and the pulley itself went suborbital this afternoon. So I went to Farm & Fleet in Sycamore and bought a Cub Cadet ZT1 54 instead of the ZT2 54. It was seven Benjamins cheaper. I pick it up tomorrow.
Going to fix the Troy Bilt next month and put a for sale sign on it.

Nice. I had a zero turn back in Georgia. When I had grass to cut, instead of the desert landscaping out here in Phoenix. Once you get the hang of the 180* turns, it really cuts down on the time it takes to do the grass. The only downside is that you need both hands on the control arms, and that doesn't leave a hand free for a cold one. I suppose all life is a trade-off, though. ;)

That’s what the Park position is for. But, it isn’t the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Then I buy my annual case of Corona.

I was looking at that exact mower today but instead bought a husky tractor. The main reason was about 1000 cheaper plus my old husky tractors bagger fits on new tractor. Those things are like 500 bucks.
You cub looks sweet. Congrats.
