I'm getting some weird noise coming from my rear wheel so decided to take it off again and grease everything. Here's a video of the noise.

When I had it off I noticed the brake caliper mounting plate has some rubbing damage from the post it slides into on the swing arm. Is there a way to prevent this? When it sits on its incredibly loose. Pics below.

looks like the chain is too tight for starters, which would make it pull hard on the swing arm protector at the pivot point, steel sliding on rubber will make that sound... see if it goes away with loosing the chain up a bit... i tend to run my chain looser than most, where you can see about a 3/4inch droop on the lower part of the chain when sitting on the ground.
as for the brake plate, thats jsut kinda gonna happen... its metal on metal, with nothing to isolate it... you might be able to find a piece of rubber hose to slip over the pin in the swinarm, but i never worried about it on my bike...

I second these statements.
