Hello,

I think I saw something about this engine brace, but I can’t find it now.

Does anyone know if this fits a HellCat? I know most Honda Grom engine parts don’t fit. The pictures don’t give me enough measurements to determine if it will fit or not.

Enjoy the Ride!

Hey Kirbo , where or how does this mount to the engine, is it like a skid plate, or is it something else .I'm not familiar with that part but i do know of some skid plates that will definitely fit .

post a link that takes me to that part if you can , the only engine brace i have seen really is some plates that allow a Zs190 to go in a grom bc one has a 3 hole mount system and the other only uses two, but i dont recall them looking anything like this piece.

RedCrowRides - This piece mounts to the underside of the engine, using the 4 bolt holes, and then bolts to the swing arm cross bar. Supposedly, it helps with vibration and helps support the engine.

I’m almost tempted to buy it and see if it works or not. I already have a Honda Grom fork brace that doesn’t fit my HellCat!

Hmmmmmm. It might work, but the single point of contact (frame tube) makes me wonder about efficacy.
Motocheez welded a plate go his frame (welding makes sense to me here)

I went a different route and got some CRF50 brace plates.

The top hole uses the rear motor mount, but the 2nd hole needs to be drilled and the sleeved bolt employed. Both the welded method and the CRF50 mount form "triangles" of support. The mount shown above would act like more of a hinge I would think?

That said, it would certainly be a lot easier to install compared to welding or drilling. Let us know if you get it and how it works. Even if it just shifts the common bolt break point from the rear to top motor mount, that one is certainly much easier to replace.

Here’s a better picture.

It gives you some measurements, but not the important ones.

Ah, i see. Nah man i have never seen that part before so i have no idea if it would fit- pretty trick tho, i like it .

motocheez supposedly just dropped a Zs190 into his HellKat and i am anxiously awaiting his Video on that , i guess i am about to go down that road too lol.

I too have wondered the same thing... if that linked part would work on my Hellcat. After seeing what Motocheez did for his brace... I would rather buy a bolt-on brace. Do let us know if you decide to give it a try!

The part that is linked is a copy of the Composimo (sp?) under engine brace for the Honda Grom. I'm not quite sure how the the bottom of hte engine will compare to that of the Grom.

Keep in mind the Grom has a different engine than the pit bike engines like in the Grom Clones which are based on the Honda CRF50 design.

I'm not sure if anyone has tried it. I never did so I'm hesitant to say anything.

Best way would be to get some calipers and find someone with a Honda Grom. Then you can measure the dimensions on the Grom and the Grom clone and see if it'll work.

On the Grom, that piece cuts down on vibration a good bit from the reviews I've seen.

I’m with you, ripcuda! I would rather bolt the brace on vs weld it on.
