They replied to my inquiry this morning-

"We’ve begun receiving our first shipments and expect to fill most pre-orders in the next 2-3 weeks. Once your order is shipped, we will contact you with tracking information."

I placed my order June 4th so I have no idea where my order would be in the queue. Lets hope we get some good news on orders next week.

I’ve had an pre-order pending since May 16th. Idk what Q9 is doing with their shipments. I’ve contacted about 5 different times and it just keeps getting pushed back. Best of luck to you

That's the same answer I got yesterday. I placed an order for a white TBR7 on May 27th. My internal 10 year old is having a fit. :D

I ordered the Tao Bull from Q9 back on May 6th and still nothing.

I've been following this shipment from Tao, but I don't know what's in the container or who it's for... But it did come from them to the US.

There's also a second shipment from Tao China to the US below. Again, no idea what's in this container or who it's being shipped to. There was one I was following in May that looked liked it ended up at Tao Canada.

It ain't that good because I just found another one. It went with a different freight company and looks to have landed in CA on the 14th, cleared Customs on the same day and as of yesterday it's still sitting at the Port of LA.

Edit: Found some additional info on this last one.

EDIT: - Found some info on Teng Chang... They sell motorcycle parts, so this one's just parts.. not vehicles. :-(

Not that it means anything in this particular instance but I live near a major CSX rail line that runs north to south and forks to the southeast nearby. Runs from Atlanta to Detroit and west to Louisville where it connects south to Mobile Bay and parts Dixie. Remember that New Orleans is our second largest port.

Traditionally there have been four trains that ply the route daily. Two north, two south. Early in the morning and another pass late at night.

For the past week there have been trains passing hourly either north or south.

Not just the run of the mill trains either. These loads are stacked with containers two high and they are more than a mile long. There are no empty cars or single stack loads, as has always been normal.

Shipping space is at a premium and I am sure there are priorities in place for distribution with motorcycles down the list a bit behind necessities of life.

The ports are open and only awaiting the train space to move the loads to the trucking centers.

I noticed q9 has upped their pre-order price for the DLX from $1.8k to $2k in the last week or two. Fingers crossed that's a sign they're expecting to have them in stock at full price in the near future.
The verbiage of the email they sent KHnTX was also different from the one I got 6/10/20 which still gave the 2-3wk time frame but didn't say anything about shipments being received.

They told me on Tuesday morning that they were still hoping to see much of their inventory start rolling in within the next 2-3 weeks, end of June ish.

"End of June" has been the timeline I got when I called to order back on 5/18, so they've been consistent in that regard. Whoever is answering the phones seems to give more accurate info than the canned "2-3wk" email responses everyone has been getting.

Based on my experience, it's BS. When I ordered in the beginning of May, the told me by the end of May. During the 2nd half of May, when I called, they said by the middle of June. When I called in the 1st week of June, they changed it to the End of June.

My guess is that if I call them say today or early next week, they'll be saying by the middle of July.

BTW, when I called them last week, they said they had a shipment at the Port of Los Angeles and they were just waiting for customs inspection... said it had already been waiting for a week. I wanted to tell them BS because the Tao China shipments I've found online all pass customs the same day they get offloaded. These freighters don't come into Port and sit. They have other ports of call and on a schedule, so they offload then go. I wanted to call them out on it, but I figured it wouldn't make any difference.

I dont know what they got in but I just checked there site and when I look at the Tao Bull 200, what I ordered, instead of "pre-order" button, it now says "add to cart".

This a a really positive development! I'm wondering if I should call them or wait for their call.. I had ordered over a month ago..

NVM.. I got excited and called them. They said it's just a system glitch and they only got a few bikes in... nothing more. I asked when they expect the Tao Bull 200 to be in and was told they're hoping to get them by the end of the month.

I got bored today and dug a little bit on shipments.. Found a container for Vitacci that's on route to Texas.. Supposedly it's ATV and is scheduled to be in Tx on 6/24. It landed in Long Beach on 6/16 and the Port there released it on the 17th.

So if you've been waiting for something from Vitacci, you might be in luck.

Maybe I've become cynical, but I think that date is made up. I say this because I checked some of their other products and everything they had listed as out of stock had the 8/1 date.

Here's an update on the 2nd shipment from Tao.. It finally landed in Chicago this morning then quickly passed customs.. I sure hope it's ATVs, if not ATVs, bikes or whatever others here are waiting on.

Fingers crossed.

Still nothing from Q9. I'd cancel my order and order from someone else, but that would likely just push back a delivery date into August if I'm lucky.

I cannot believe that if they're ordering containers full of product that they don't know precisely where things are at and when they'll reach them. It's simply not plausible.

I'm tempted to cancel my order with them too and it's because of the same reason as you gave.

They tell everyone they're the distributor, but have no idea when they're going to get stock. There's no way in the world, if they were the distributor, they wouldn't know when something is going to arrive.

For example, when I spoke with BV powesports, before I ordered my scooter in mid May, they told me they're expecting a shipment in mid June. They nailed the date and at that time, the ship hadn't even set sail from China. BV got their shipment of Znen scooters on 6/16.

On the other hand, Q9 keeps telling me 2 weeks. Ok. last week when I called, the said 1week, maybe 2 or 3 weeks. They're just pulling time frames out of the air.

Believe me on this.. If they really were a distributor, they would know because someone is going to have to pay Customs... (I wish they would prove me wrong) And depending on the type of ship it's coming on, it can take up to 3 week. (Larger container ships take about 21 days and smaller ones take about 14 days). Sheesh.. this I learned from trying to track what's coming in from TaoTao.

BTW, the last TaoTao shipment I'm aware of that come in was a load of helmets. It landed Vancouver on 6/25 and that container is on a train to Chicago. It's for BCS International. There was a second container that landed there too, and it's going to Tao Motor of Canada.. more helmets. I can't find anything on actual vehicles.

What's up with all these helmets?

Makes me wonder if taotao got hit hard with covid or something because all the other brands seem to be getting inventory. They usually sell as fast as they get them but I have seen Boom, Apollo, trailmaster stuff come into stock on websites. Nothing from taotao though.

I remember one of the dealers I talked to in may said taotao was out of helmets at the same time as vehicles. Probably why they are shipping them by the container full. Seems the quads and bikes should be coming too though so kinda weird.

Well, Q9 is a distributer, same as any other dealer/seller that is "distributing" the product. lol. If they are making sound like they are special, I'm not aware of why or how they would be any different than say, TXpowersports, or wmsbrighton ...

I just checked 6 dealers and all are out of stock. Only one gave even a remotely confident answer as to when they would be seeing more; Blue Line Industries out of Florida says mid-July on their Facebook page.

I think when they start to roll in, you'll see a few dealers getting their inventory at the same-ish time, but the websites won't update to reflect this, since those units will already be sold via pre-order.

I see it as completely plausible that Q9 has no frickin' clue when their containers of bikes are going to arrive; I order a lot of crap from overseas, mostly China, and I have 7 orders that tracking information makes no sense. Some of it says it left country of origin, some say they are Stateside already, but those statuses (stati? statusi?) have been that way for weeks upon weeks.

A lot of this may be the fiasco going on with shipping literally anything out of China, plus US customs. They are probably mandating a 14 day qaurantine of all the shipping containers too, if not a full decontamination process before the goods are allowed through.

One of the things that burns me the most is that I fell for the "sale timer" thing on the TBR7 page. It's just a stupid Javascript counter that resets every 24 hours. Those jerks have even configured nearly all their pages to prevent right-click actions or selecting any text.

In hindsight, looking all over their site, the whole place screams "skeezy used car dealer".

I think that's all of them. It kinda takes a certain breed of "dealer" to choose to sell cheap, knock-off Chinese powersports anyhow. It's like trying to find a "reputable" drug dealer in certain parts of Detroit or Chicago.

I haven't seen a Chinese powersports dealer website that was any good. Some, won't even let you browse the models that they proclaim to sell. You have to call or email them only.

I think the biggest issue with Q9 right now is that they are giving dates and approximate time-frames with no clue if they are accurate or not. I wish they'd just say "We don't know".

Q9 isn't acting like other dealers. They're saying they are a distributor that supplies other dealers.

As for when stuff arrives, these things aren't like stuff the general public orders where we just follow tracking info. They're on a schedule. Tao China knows exactly when they expect to ship and files with the freight company and US customs. When this happens they know pretty much to within a couple days as to when it will arrive in the US. Basically their given a schedule. US customs doesn't hold these containers for any given quarantine period. They basically scan them through because they know exactly what's in them. They just won't release them until someone pays them. All the info, the scheduling and what not can be tracked with the Bill of Lading. That's how I've been able to see when shipments are arriving. But finding the BOL is a pain because I don't want to pay for a service. There are services out there where you pay to access this info through US Customs.

Here's an example... Use this BOL to to see what comes up. : NB0BF3901800

I'm done. I cancelled the order and placed a new one with Amazon for a Hawk DLX 250 EFI.

While I knew it was a "pre-order" when I placed it, I'd made the (erroneous) assumption that like other product orders I'd made from other companies, their estimate of "Early June" was based in the same reality that I live in.

My hope was that I'd have a learning platform to work with in order to bring up my skill enough that I wouldn't fail the riding test again. Hindsight being 20/20 and all that, I should have ordered from Amazon to begin with, even though it was basically $1k more. Now I'm basically ****ed and won't have any practice opportunities prior to my retest date.

I made it quite clear in my email that I thought they had absolutely no idea when they would see product from Tao Tao.

I ended up emailing them to cancel because I couldn't get anyone to answer the damn phone. I suspect they're all cowering under their desks by now. Jerks.

Ok, whine done. Thanks guys. :D :D :D

I have been working with a local dealer on a few Kymco K-Pipe simple parts and emailing Kymco USA. They don't seem to know when anything is arriving. Plus, the dealer said they are having trouble with Yamaha parts and their shipment of Ducati parts has been sitting in a California container for about a month now. Said they have many angry customers. Seems everything is messed up right now.

I asked Q9 this morning if they could guarantee my order would ship by 7/10 and if not then I wanted to cancel my order. This would put them at the end of the time frame they originally gave me for order fulfillment from their incoming shipment.

They replied back they could not and have refunded my money. Oh well. Will just have to keep my eye out for a used bike or for some dealer to get something in stock.

That's unfortunate, but at least you were promptly refunded. I asked a big dealer here in MI and they told me they were "expecting shipments in the following weeks". I don't have any orders in with them, but used that as a gauge as to when any machines may be reaching dealers.

At this point, I'm hoping to have my Hellcat from Q9 by end of this month, maybe end of first week of August.

After that point, I'll be where the rest of you guys are in terms of frustration and pissed off-edness.

I don't know who GVS Brands are (looks to be Canadian), but today at 1500 hours, they're suppose to get 3 containers of ATVs from TaoTao.. They landed in Vancouver, BC, not in Washington State. as the info below shows. Got my fingers crossed hoping US shipments start arriving soon.

Maybe they are shipping direct to Canada then trucking to US to somehow avoid tariffs. :hmm:

I doubt it, but I wish it were true in someway.

I looked them up and in their Linkin profile it says "Founded in 2001, GVA Brands is one Canada's largest independent power sport distributors. "

I also looked at their site and they need as many ATV as they can get. They're showing all their inventory as sold out. They sell under the GIO brand.

There was another container of ATVs, on the same ship from Tao, that is going to another company in Canada.. It's going to some company called "PEAVEY INDUSTRIES LTD." When I googled them, it seems like they sell anything and everything under the Sun.

I have a Hellcat on order with Q9 as well. They told me a couple days ago that Tao is now back in full production as far as they know and it's just a matter of getting bikes produced and getting them here. Said they have pre-orders for about 60 of just the Hellcats and the container holds 80. Hope Tao is not skimping on what quality control they do have just to get them out the door fast.

I've been thinking that since stock dried up but didn't want to say it out loud.

Sorry for my long rant... I'm probably analyzing this way too much but I'm a bit pissed. Mostly because the info they're providing doesn't seem to give any real info as to what's actually happening.

They sent me an email the other day and said all their suppliers were back to full production. I sure hope so since China started reopening manufacturing back in March and supposedly was back in full production in April.

Here's China's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index from investing.com (https://www.investing.com/economic-calendar/chinese-manufacturing-pmi-594). As you can see, China's overall manufacturing only really dropped in Feb because of Covid. Anything over 50 is growth, below 50 is shrinkage.

Problem with what they said is that it isn't giving me any confidence as to when to expect shipment. It's really no better then the "approx 2 weeks", they've been telling me, then missing it.

My order was placed back in the 1st week of May based on what they told me. Which was that they were expecting stock by the middle of May to send out. When the mid May came, they pushed it back to the end of May, and so on and so on. It's now July.

I know I can cancel my order, but there's no point in doing such, since no one else has them in stock now. Fact is, it might be worst for me. Reordering from someone else just puts me in the back of the line of this wait game.

I do understand that they're in a hard position. I can't imagine what it would be like now to own a small business and trying to keep it afloat with what's going on.. But come on.. give us some real info, not just something to get us off the phone for a couple weeks.

I think it's because none of the dealers actually do know what is happening. All the US dealers are giving the same answers and taking a lot of heat. So you just pick where to pre-order from and wait like them I guess. I bet these bikes show up on Amazon and/or Ebay first saying "Ships From US" and at high prices. Glad I grabbed the little used Kymco K-Pipe 125 when it popped up near me on Craigslist couple weeks ago. Figured Hellcat was going to take a while and will sell it if Cat ever arrives. Older guy who bought it new said a bunch of people wanted it and were willing to drive hours. He was overwhelmed. Had to quickly remove his phone number from ad. He picked me because I was close with a truck, ramps, cash and willing to meet at bank next morning. Bank had just re-opened and she notarized title outside...lol. Getting my title, registration and plates was stand in line outside 6 feet apart with mask on inside building. Everybody yelling back and forth through masks and plexiglass. Crazy times.
