So I'm just making a thread on my personal Gen II Vader (blue) and my girlfriend's (white). I'll try to keep it updated with picture and videos of things that I'm doing to it (Which is a lot lately in the past 2 days!) I work as a paramedic and am on for 24 today, but will start uploading everything tomorrow to show you guys. I think you'll have some fun looking at it. Here is a quick mod list on what I've ordered and where.

Vader 125 (Gen II) Kronik Racing
Ordered 7/21 - Received 9/3 (Covid really slowed it down, but Pete was very helpful with the process and had the MCO in the box on arrival)

$1400 to the door - https://www.kronikracing.com/-Boom-Vader-Gen-2-BD125-10-_p_437.html

Integrated tail light and fender eliminator kit - https://tstindustries.com/tst-undertail-fender-eliminator-integrated-tail-light-system-honda-grom-2017.html

**The tail light kit was a bitch finding out what wire goes where, but I will post the wiring diagram too to make it a breeze for anyone doing this in the future! A lot of trial and error but it looks amazing and I feel it is a cheap must have for the bike. Just make sure you buy the 14$ license plate light on the site because the kit didn't come with one.

I'll run through most of the stuff I have on tomorrow in my video and should have everything put together in a few days for a full ride and review out here in bi polar ass Colorado this week. (Supposed to snow on 9/8-9) Everyone stay safe!

I am surprised that Grom exhaust fit , usually the exhaust port angle is different enough so that you have to heat the head pipe with a torch and bend it rather significantly to get a decent fit. The pipes for the DAX or "original" monkey ( not the new released one) will usually bolt right on .

Yeah, it didn't fit up. You're right. My 1st gen Vader had the same problem. I have it at a shop now getting fitted. Should have it Tuesday because of the holiday. Everything else has fit properly.

I changed my seat to this one. fit perfect, no mods and feels great on my back side.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D5M1FKW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Got this for the EPA pipe blocking plate for the under side of the head.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-EGR-Block-Off-Plate-FOR-50cc-QMB139-150cc-GY6-Scooters/192442529967?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I do have to agree with you on the low beam on the head light. It really sucks the big one big time. Have to ride with the high beam on to see at night better. I also added these for night time (auxiliary lighting) and they work nice.

What head light assembly are you referring to for replacement?

thanks much

Yeah I figured out that damn block off plate was needed for sure so that should be here Wednesday. I really like that seat too! I added it to my Amazon cart now, so I can get it this week for sure. I'm 6.4 so that little hump in the middle of the stock seat makes me have to seat back a little. I'll have to get a flat one this week for sure, but the stock seat isn't bad at all. Here is the stock Gen II Grom headlight. My buddy has one on his Gen II Grom so I know it fits. He said the Brightness is worth it alone and you get the little LED running light strip. Here is the link:

Welp...more parts coming. I bought a flat seat as my 6.4 self feels kind of funny on the pointy part of the seat.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D5M1FKW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also am going to fix the low output of the headlight and retrofit a really good fog light in there, so I'll make sure to keep pictures up to date with that. Here is the ones I bought. Mind you, I'm doing my girl's bike and mine at the same time.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PJVW4LH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also put the block off plate on the bottom of the engine:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-EGR-Block-Off-Plate-FOR-50cc-QMB139-150cc-GY6-Scooters/192442529967?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I also will be the guinea pig on the shorter front forks to go along with the 2.5 inch drop I bought for the back. Here is the link for that:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-FORKS-SHOCK-LOW-CUSTOM-ABSORBERS-FIT-HONDA-GROM-MSX-125-MSX125SF-2013-2020/202783006270?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I'll keep everyone updated on the progress to help people in the future with this bike. I'll be posting a good walk through and riding video tomorrow with the current completed state.

At 6-2 I know what you mean about the stock seat. That is why I got the one I linked to you. Very nice seat and you can slide along it to get your favorite riding position.
Wish that darn low beam was brighter. Have not seen the light output of a Honda Groms one to see if that is any better or not.
I also saw the upgraded motor mount bolts on my bike as well.

I used this oil cooler. do NOT cut the springs, they are for protecting the hoses.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WDZKXJS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

you can use this one for the oil cooler plate for the head of the motor. DO NOT destroy the original gasket. Needs to be used for the new oil plate.

almost forgot;

the bolt closest to the spark plug on the plate ALSO holds the circular plate on the other side of the head inplace.
There is a LOCATING tab on that plate to keep it in place when you tighten down that one long bolt.
Torque all 3 bolts to 7 to 8 Ft Lbs. use a drop of blue lock tight on each one.

Got the headlights retrofitted guys. Hope you like them! I swear I'm going to do a night ride video tonight to show you how they look. Get you the 20$ dremal set at Walmart so you can cut into the housing and everything else is just screws and the housing itself pops open easy since there is no silicone. I think it turned out great!

Dremal I used (just buy you some good cutting wheels for 5$): https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Tough-AQ25000S-A-1-5-Amp-106-Piece-Rotary-Tool-and-Kit/155323609?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&&adid=22222222227092137781&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=207464220440&wl4=aud-393207457166:pla-335409039256&wl5=9029086&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=155323609&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjw74b7BRA_EiwAF8yHFIzvns9KQvtclXSIUBnC Z4PG_wcXx8m784ed326mesW9voB40vEIMRoCm48QAvD_BwE

Carl

I have the back cut out so the back of the housing actually is in the open, but I haven't felt ANY heat at all. Maybe just because of the LED or it's only 40w. I have to take it apart one more time to kinda of lower the beam some more. (It's a little too high, no biggie). Came out good. I might need a little 6 or 7 inch light bar below it to really make the light output shine brighter. I bought some clamps for my forks and I'm going to see how much space I have to work with after I get those in. Here are the ones I got:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0753YM3VX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think our fork diameter is like 44mm or 1.7 inches so these should do since they are up to 2". This is going to look sick with a light bar right under the headlight housing if all goes well.

I have this light in mind: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MYYCLHG/?coliid=I2BRSTY0797H9W&colid=3GVTNZAL4HXCI&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

dont forget you can angle the headlight assembly by loosening up the SINGLE screw under the high beam on the headlight schroud.

Yeah, I maxed the bottom screw out already. I literally just cut a square so it would fit perfectly and it kinda sat snugly in place. When I do the re-adjustment tomorrow, I'll be sure to take some pictures of the process.

Is your engine feeling any stronger at 400 miles? Mine feels like it’s just starting to break in and loosen up ...but that may be wishful thinking and an improperly calibrated butt-dyno, because i ride with a passenger more often than not. Hahahaha

Hey man, I love the passenger idea! Make the experience as fun as you can get it and bring people along for the ride. Yeah, my engine feels so much better at around 500 miles. I mean the difference from where you are and just right where I am is night and day. You'll find those gear so much better around the 500 mile mark. Just keep riding it around where you are switching through the gears and it'll break it easy. We all go through it, Just the price we pay for Chinese, but it's worth the discount!

Haha. I have raced sport bikes since 2007ish, and raced XR100s from 2014 or so. Fiancé was super supportive about getting back into “big” bikes, but was upset that my SV650 doesn’t have lights or plates... so the Vader was my solution. We ride together, and she will learn on it.

Yeah that is the best bike to do it on! My girl and I both have a Vader and she's new on motorcycles so it's perfect for them to learn. Be safe!

Okay. You got me interested. Now what is the difference between the 'Gen 1' BD125-15 and the 'Gen 2 BD125-10? Anything besides the plastic?

There are probably some minor differences, perhaps in the chassis, but since the Vaders are all certified on the same EPA/DOT certificate, and they concurrently sell both models, mechanically they are the same. I suggest to speak with Pete at Kronik Racing--he is the Vader guru as far as dealers go (member RedCrowRides is among our resident experts on this forum). He sells them, repairs them, modifies them, and has performed, or sold the parts to perform, engine swaps on the little, mighty beasts.

Sorry for the late reply, but yea the 15 (even though the number is higher) is the older "round" style headlight and plastics and the 10 is the newer Grom SF style with a little different plastics. Having had both, the parts and engine are identical.
