I just bought this and I will give it a try. Got the black so that is will blend in better.

Time for some performance mods to the lifan.

What does the wrap do?

The header wrap is suppose to help the exhaust gases travel faster through the exhaust pipe by helping keep it warm.

Also I can remove the heat shield from the header pipe that rattles all the time and then number one reason. It looks cool.

Cool,

The wrap holds heat IN the exhaust and OUT of the engine. On an air cooled bike it probably lowers the head temp some and supposedly gives a little HP as the hotter exhaust gasses flow faster out the pipe. Probably not gonna be noticable on our little engines.

I wonder if it would work in the place of a heat shield? I had to remove the heat sheild on mine because it was rattling badly and could not get it tight. Have not done anything else yet but the wrap sounds like it might be an alternative?

I plan to remove the heat shield. I am not expecting to notice any power gains.

While I am wrapping the head pipe I plan to inspect the inside for any restrictions to remove.

I will let you know the results after I get it.

The wrap arrived. I will have to find some time this week to wrap the head pipe.

Need to google for some instructions now.

Got the wrap done. Haven't been for a ride yet, but not expecting to notice much. I didn't see any restrictions in my head pipe so no grinding needed.

The 2" wide wrap is alittle wide for the small diameter pipe. 1" would be better. I had enough so I got two layers on there.

Looks good and will make a good heat shield.

if you leave your bike in the rain, run the bike after it rains to get the pipe hot and dry off the moisture so it doesnt rust.

I keep it inside at night. It smoked for the first 20 miles and then cleared up.

I ride in the rain some, but by the time I get home it will have burned off.

I did notice that the noise level is down some. No noticeable power change.
