Are you just trying to rub it in that those of us in the US can't get this cool bike?!

I demand pictures :P

I sent the sticker, please let me know if it arrives...

I think the luggage racks on the american bikes are slightly different, but I am not really sure... Did you try phoning Ken and seeing if he could get you one? I had them throw one in with the bike when I purchased it :)

I'll get you some more detailed pictures of the mounting part later on today.

The rack itself needs some modification, need to remove any unnecessary tabs, such as those to mount reflectors or a helmet lock, since on this bike they mount to the frame. I snapped them off and cleaned up with an angle grinder and bondo. Added the plate you see in the middle as it is further back, and cut the front mounting bars of the rack off shorter, rounded the ends, and put a new hole through the. Repainted with gloss black paint.

You may want to mount yours slightly further back, as I think mine would crowd a passenger if I had one on there. I don't have any measurements, if you want I can take some, but you may want to position yours differently anyways. I'm not sure the bolt sizes either, I used one stock bolt in the middle of the rack, the other 4 were purchased at a hardware store. If you want I can get the measurements of the brass bushings but they are probably a standard size. I would've used busings on the side too if I had any around that fit, but I didn't so I simply cut some pipe to fit.

Thanks a lot jim ,masterful directions I wouldn't know how to even start with putting arrows and text in pictures. I have called on availability from north coast but I have not heard back as of yet, thought id float it out there. good to know about the us gy-5 rack thanks! And no I did not mean to rub it in to my southern friends but you should really try to get this bike as I feel it is far superior and tougher, what are your thoughts on the comparison Jim?

My gy5 was unbalanced, so that is one of the major differences, that change alone really made me happy (though the newer gy5's they have are balanced too). The frame is better, the swing arm is thicker. Over all I think it is a lot nicer. I had a thread in the pics and video forum with all the differences though.

My biggest beef with it is the seat is a lot harder then on my gy5. Maybe it will soften up with use though.

I think the bike is taller also, but my gy5 may have just been starting to sag or something...

About the US gy5 racks, I am not sure they are different, and it may vary depending on distributor too, but they look different in the pictures, the bars that come off the sides. Either way you should be able to make it fit though, but I would just phone Ken at coast to coast and ask him.
