I recently bought a Hi-Bird 200gy.The dealer here is removing the signal lights and just selling them as dirt bikes(says its less paperwork ect). But I want to get it licensed and on the road. I bought some universal single bulb signal lights, but can't seem to get them to work right. I had it blinking for a second, and then the main fuse blew. Can anyone tell me which wires would go where? It would be much appreciated, because I have tried a few different combo's and its just not working. I hope I didn't blow the actual blinker box(where would that be?)

I am quite mechanical minded.... and have really never been stuck like this before. It would be a godsend if someone could take there headlight off, pull back the harness cover boot and take a picture of where the signal light wires plug into. I swear I had it figgured and then the fuse blew... and the god awful sound is steady on.

Doesn't the dealer have an owners manual for you? They should have a wiring diagram in them.

That diagram is exceedingly unhelpful, and I had it hooked into what I thought was the intended wires, and it did blink for a second and then the fuse blew......

The bike does have a full wiring harness though right? Does the dealer not have the stock lights you could put on they should plug right in...

Maybe the bulbs you are using are using too much power?

The bike came with the signal switch? Flasher?

Could you put a picture of the wiring diagram up?

Sounds like you shorted something or overloaded a circuit.

Are you splicing wires are using the stock connectors?

My HiBird 250 came with a 200 manual. No wiring diagram but there is a picture of a wiring harness with a note as to what each group of wie is for.
I wont have access to it until Monday night however.

The rear blinkers plugged into existing wiring under the seat. Fronts were already hooked up but should have a connector behind the headlight.

You could try removeing the bulbs on one side and replaceing the fuse to verify the integrety of one side before trying the other side.

Yeah I am sure I fried the actual flasher. They pulled the connections apart, but there are a few extra ones in there that are confusing me. The dealer wouldn't sell me the signal lights. Does it seem that there is no pattern to which wires are + and which are -?

I am sure the rear's are hooked up right, but the front is what is confusing me. I have a few loose brown wires, both male and female, a loose orange, and light blue. Now I need to ground both lights to a green wire I think, and orange and blue are the left/right(since those go too the indicator on the dash)? But in my diagram it points to a brown wire up front, but a red/blue in the rear.

Oh and is it normal to have a weird ass noise when the signal lights are on?

The lights are ok, tested each one individually I probably hooked the ground side to a positive flasher output or something dumb.

What kind of noise? Beeping? Beeping is ok.

orange and light blue sound right, but I have a lifan and it could be wired different... What color is the ground on the back? Maybe the brown is ground?

Never mind the flasher didn't work from the beginning, replaced it with one from my 79 mustang works perfect and the annoying beeping noise is gone :D
