Hello Folks;
I have a 200CC ZHEJIANG X-MOTOS and I need valves. There appears to be several different types for sale on E-Bay and AliExpress, all with little differences in their specifications, my engine is a ZS169 FMM, where is the best place to get the right valves for it. I have already purchased a set on AliExpress but they are not quite right.
Please advise

Send us a picture of the motor, I've got one that's marked ZS169FML, and it's actually a 163FML. Early on there were some, shall we say, "discrepancies" with how they were marked. Also, yours says, based on the FMM part, that it's a Chinese "250", which is marketing speak for 223-229cc. It could also be that it's a Yamaha clone, but we'd need to see pictures.

Wouldn't the 169 indicate a 68mm bore, thus making it larger than the 229cc 167's? If so, it is not a 200cc, but closer to a 250?
A ZS167FMM is a Zongshen CG250 engine, essentially. EDITED the model
Displacement is 229cc with a 67mm bore.
x-moto lists valves...

Though it is a long way from Tipperary when you consider shipping.

If you read this post, you may want to measure bore & stroke before ordering anything from anywhere. Seems they will(did) mark them as having a larger bore than was actually the case.

Gents,
It is a 65.5 MM bore, I measured it and calculated the displacement at 230CC if my memory serves me. Franque, I agree on your discrepancies comment. I have been involved with engines, mechanics, motorcycles and engineering for over 60 years and I have never seen anything like this. The bike will be for my grandchildren to ride, so far I have stripped it to the bare frame for cleanup and repaint, changed all the bearings and now it is going back together.

Thanks

Try looking for 165FMM valves. You might be able to get valves for a Hawk or a TBR7 that would work, but out of curiosity, what is the stud spacing on the head?

Franque,
Here is a picture of a head I found on AliExpress, if I cannot find the proper valves I will replace the entire head assembly. I have verified the dimensions shown, this head will fit my bike.

Mike

This listing(I searched for Lifan 200cc valves) may list some that would fit:

Order these, then cut the valve tulip diameter to the narrower dimension you need. Just need a lathe and some machine cutting bits... length is close enough on one you can grind/machine it a bit shorter.

Grind the valve stem tip as needed to shorten. You can use a bench grinder if needed.
