I would like to know what the preferred toe settings are for the TaoTao ATA250-E and A110H quads. I've done lots of alignments on cars, none on ATV's, so I'm not even sure where to start with the settings on these. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

***The following is based purely on BS and guesswork :)***

Okay, the ATA250E looks identical to my wife's Gio 200 suspension system, so here's what I did-- Your mileage may vary!

Camber: I set it slightly positive, i.e. top of the wheel slightly inwards. I found my Wheel aligner didn't fit on the 8" rims, so I just used a 1' carpenter's level. Set it about 1/2 a bubble inwards. Under load, the suspension movement causes the top of the wheel to come out a bit, so that wya, it comes pretty close to straight under running conditions.

Toe: Using a tape measure I set it at about 1/4" toed in. Same reasoning, under compression, they tend to toe out slightly. Also found without some toe in, it tended to steer like a pig on roller skates-- Amusing, but very uncontrolled.

The 110 Looks about like the one I just sold-- Really there's only toe adjustment, so again, with the tape measure about 3/16 toe in. Just as a note, as the bushings wear, they *will* toe out. When they do, they steer completely awful. Also, with a heavy rider, they have a tendency to toe out-- Therefore why I set the toe in pretty aggressively. Something to check often on these ones.

Anyways, hope it helps, My owner's manual was in degrees and Minutes, which I hate and anyways the Aligner clamps didn't fit. Maybe someone out there has a more specific answer, but this will get them down the road...

Thanks Vince, sounds like a good starting point. I'll set them up then just watch the tire wear. They belong to a friend of mine down at work, so I'll be able to peek at the tires occasionally.

So far, I've got zero significant tire wear on either machine, My 250 "bug-eyed Monster" was set up this way, and I've got at least 200 hours on it.

I kind of figure they need some toe to "squish" the rubber bushings and whatnot together, as they are kind of sloppy in the front end department.
