What I found out while I was in the navy was that the Combat helmets were, in fact, DOT legal. Nothing like a kevlar brain bucket to make you feel cool. Lol. But honestly, Steel toes boots (standard military issue) are great for low speed trail riding, or if you're on a cruiser. Only real problem is lack of ankle protection.

That mess kit has me interested, though. When I actually get around to moto camping, I'm gonna need that. lol.
