Anyone have any info on this motor? I bought one off eBay for $450 so not sure how great it’ll be haha. Curious if one of you has any hands on experience? I wanted a Lifan but unfortunately was coming up empty in my search. These are all over eBay now so pulled the trigger on one.

In my searching I came across that Rato brand. Same engine cases but we all can know that doesn’t mean much… it’s the only ones I’ve found with the notched covers.

There are a lot of uknown brands that make clones of the honda cg pushrods engine..i guess quality is improved in the last years. What is your project with the motor?

So that is what I ordered but I received a Lifan style engine but it is a 164FML which isn't very common. Its tamped as 250cm3 on the jug so...who knows haha fit right into my CT125 frame though!

Rato have been around for many years (as far as Chinese companies go). I believe they are the OEM for some or several of the Mexican company Italika. The engine should be fine.

Edit--I believe they OEM for those Coleman 200cc mini-bikes (the fat-tired ones sold by Coleman and others), or at least the engines are, as I recall seeing their name on the EPA certification list for 'Off-road motorcycles' for the Coleman bikes.
