Hey everybody, new guy here.

I've recently purchased the x-pro 250cc efi bike, and I'm having trouble finding videos and feedback on maintenance and service for this model. I'm starting to assume that videos and information from the hawk250 efi are going to be similar, as I'd think the engines are the same. I just wanted to post here to see if anyone has one of the bikes I've got, and if they can steer me in the right direction of type of oil to use, and mods they found that made a big difference

Currently I've got an oil cooler I plan to install, exhaust, and I'm considering gearing for more top end. I also saw a video about advancing timing, and intend to change the air filter.

Well I'm hoping that I'm not the only one with this bike, and that some of you can offer some of your words of wisdom.

Thanks!

The X-pro BD250-5 EFI is a new bike. You probably won't find much information on it. The Engine is a 223cc 165FMM-P. Completely different than the Hawk engine. The engine will very similar to the Venom X22R 250.

The BD-5 is pretty much the same as the Venom Superbike 250 https://www.venommotorsportsusa.com/products/2021-venom-superbike-250cc-fuel-injected-motorcycle

Here is a video of someone unboxing one. He used to be a member here but argued a lot regarding other bikes, but he might have some insight into the bike.

Thanks for the responses, I was thinking it would be most similar to the X22R, so was following a bit of your videos, jerryhawk250, as reference before posting here. What kind of oil did you use for first oil change and after breaking in? (I remeber hearing you talk about it in a video i think... cant recall where/what video i heard it in) Think that's my biggest concern in the beginning, as there's no oil weight mentioned in the user manual that came with the bike. I was going to go with a 10w-30 4 stroke oil

This is the US office for Baodiao. They do not show the '5' on their page, but the 6, 7, 2-II, and 2-III all use the same 223cc EFI thumper engine. However, I have tried calling them several times in the past couple months, and no one answers the calls. Email them for all it's worth! http://www.baodiaomt.com/MOTORCYCLE_SCOOTER_BIKE/

I just got the same bike! love it so far. I took the exhaust off to do some work and the gasket came out unraveled... does anyone know what size gasket I need?
I know its a lifan223cc 165FMM. maybe 30mm OD 38mm?

Thanks everyone!

Part worked perfectly! Thanks so much!

Would you have any good upgrade recommendations for my bikes suspension? Rear Shock Absorber has a clevis end.

i wish I had the detailed specks for this bike.

This is the most detailed spec sheet/ owner's manual that I've been able to find for the bike:

Thanks for checking! That manual came with the bike...

I would like to upgrade my chain.. it has a 428H 124L now which from what I find is rated at 150cc max.

Does anyone know of a higher quality chain? Not looking for Budget items.
Also suspension, fork and rear single.

The 428 size chain is good. I don't suggest going to a 520 for that bike. It's unneeded. A better 428 chain is what you need. The crap chain that comes in these bikes aren't they best, but they work. If you don't have a lot of miles on the bike, go ahead and order a better quality chain. EK and D.I.D are some of the best. They're costly, though. Anything more budget friendly is renthal and Turner.

Thanks for the info! I made a mistake! I was going by the literature instead of actually looking at the chain which is clearly marked 520! I’ll leave as is.

I was riding today and the front suspension is awful! Any ideas for replacements or where to get better springs? just learning as I go lol
Just trying to see if anybody knows the measurements without me having to take the shock off the bike.

There's very little info on this bike. As far as I know, your the first person here with it. You'll have to pull the fork apart to get spring measurements. But, it may not be the springs. Figure out how much sag you get when you sit on the bike.

Here's a video:

If you're within the range, you can probably get away with thicker fork oil.

So update with mine, I've added a oil cooler. Got the speedo calibrator figured out and dialed in thanks to jerryhawk250, added an exhaust, did a throttle tube from an yamaha r6, and regeared from the 13t front sprocket to an 11t front. Also wired in a charging quad lock and kill switch to the battery. Bikes been doing great, although just recently it seems the fuel sending unit is acting up. If anyone knows a way to test and mess with this from other Bikes that may apply, any advice would be appreciated. Sometimes the fuel reads close to accurate, then it just starts shooting all over the place, and sometimes reads completely empty, all the while the tank is full. It all happened after adding non ethanol, 90 Octaine, and some Lucas octane booster... I'm wondering if the new fuel outside of just using regular may have made an issue, or if it's just a coincidence.

Thanks guys!

Many thanks!! I’m going to tackle them soon. Defiantly useless and dangerous suspension. Just wish I had the specs so I could order real ones. Ill just have to break out the calipers and tape measure to figure it out. Just don’t feel like taking it all apart twice.

What seems to be the problem with the front? At lot of the time, these bikes are under dampened, but sprung for someone MUCH lighter than myself (at 250 lbs). Hell, even my MT-10 in under sprung for me lol.

If it acts more like a pogo stick in the front, that's more of a dampening issue. That's where the thicker shock oil comes into play. But, another thing to check, is to see just how close the fork is to the Second gen ninja 250 or the ninja 300. If the internals are similar, you can probably use the upgraded parts for those.

Thanks so much!! I can rebuild a car but clearly clueless about motorcycles! This is exactly why I bought this bike. To learn... The next Time I see rain for several days I will take the forks out. Definitely pogo stick and the rear shock socks as well. Maybe it won't be so bad once I fix the front. Thank you for the tip with the ninja... I know the outside looks the same but was not sure about the forks. Is there a certain way I should be measuring them to see if the are interchange? Centre to centre of the forks? It's really not about money it's more about safety so I would be willing to pay a bit more for the real deal.
Thanks again Falkon!

Love the mirrors! Exhaust too.
You should wrap that bike before there are a lot inclusions in the paint.
It's not that hard because panels are small and easy to remove. Change the whole look for and go through some moments of frustration For $75!

You need the diameter of the fork sliders, fork tube, I'm guessing the length of both those also. Usually, I'd say to swap to the ninja fork altogether, but, you'd lose the second front brake rotor and caliper if you were to do that.

OMG! Please tell me how you calibrated the speedo! Dives me a crazy! Just need the codes.

So I bought a speed calibrator on ebay made by 12 9 clock labs, and wired it in. There are videos showing how to program and install it and it works great. I'll take a photo of my wiring as that was a struggle to figure out and I'd imagine we have the same cable colors as we have the same bike.

So anyone have info on how to test oil pressure? The light came on during my last ride, oil level is good and clean, might try an oil change to thicker oil. I'm just wondering hoe to test pressure and how to test sensor as part of me thi KS it may be a faulty sensor as my fuel level sensor seems to have cropped out already as well.

All I know is that it's 520 36 tooth
According to an email I got from them
Also they lied on their page about the bike
having a pre-installed 17 tooth upgrade
I recently opened my bike up and saw I had
a 13 tooth front sprocket not 17 as they advertised
They said I would need a 38 tooth 520 rear
But the one on the bike is 520 36

And this is the front sprocket 13 tooth

Instead of the advertised 17 tooth front sprocket

Anyways I need help finding the rear sprocket to fit this bike

Send venom the picture of your sprocket. They offer great service and reasonable prices... But they are known to lie in their descriptions.

I'll be the first to tell you I don't know a whole lot about gearing but going from 13T to 17T in the front seems like a lot for any motorcycle. Are you sure that will even fit?

JerryHawk250
08-16-2022, 11:04 AM
If you have a 13 tooth on the front it's probably because your bike uses a 520 or 530 chain and not a 428. You might want to verify that before ordering a sprocket.

Hey Guzman I have the X24 and I've been looking for gears too and so far the closest I've found that should work are for a KTM RC250 or 250RC I forget what it's actually called but check them out on Amazon, there pretty cheap too

I just bought a 2023 Roadster 250 and want to totally debadge it. Remove all stripes etc. All of the stripes and badging seams to be sealed with the clear coat. Any suggestions on how to remove them without messing up the paint and clearcoat?

I have the BD250-5 (x-pro efi roadster 250cc) and they don't include the 17 T sprocket in the purchase and I want to increase to end speed so I can use our freeways just a little it's OK if I lose acceleration but I'm not sure what chain size and sprocket size I go with on the rear. From above I've learned I need the D.I.D. X-ring 428vx chain so then do I buy a 428 17T front sprocket and 428 38T rear sprocket? I know this is a year old post but I'm looking for answers and can't find this info.
