Hi Guys,

I was interested in picking up a Lifan KP200 for this riding season. I've had a few Japanese street bikes in the past and like standard/comfortable ergos. I'm 5'11 and on a little on the heavier side. Does anyone know what Japanese bike would the KP200 ergos be most similar to?

Also, I've seen a lot of good buzz about the KPM200 cafe racer and its powerplant. Is the engine the same in the KP200 (it looks to be on paper)?

Finally, I've seen other on this board mention shopapmc as a dealer. Are they reputable? Here is the link to the bike.

Thanks for any and all feedback.

Thanks for any and all feedback.

the KP is going to be similar to a ninja 250. pretty comfy positioning, not hunched over. keep in mind it's chinese so you WILL need to go over all the bolts and make sure everything is up to par. but for the price, a real damn good deal, if you can work on bikes.

free shipping on this one, and they are legit store

Thanks for the feedback and link! I'm mechanically inclined, from working on my cars and past motorcycles so I not too scared to deal with putting the bike together or repairing as need be. That price for the kpr200 on powersportsmax is great, unfortunately I'm partial to the look of the non-faired version of the bike and they don't seem to have it in stock.

From riding my KPM200, except for the seat, the bike feels a lot like the Suzuki TU250X. Because the KP has the same rearsets and possibly handlebars, I'd say the KP200 will feel similar.

Update:

I reached out to Don at shopapmc about ordering the KP200. As it turns out Don informed me that they are two Lifan dealers in my regional area and as such he can't ship the bike to my location.

Needless to say, I was quite bummed but understood. He seems to be a great person to deal with so it's a shame I couldn't give him my business.

As for in store dealing, I don't really feel like driving out 70 miles to get the bike. I really wanted a bike shipped to me so I could put the thing together. It looks like Lifan products are out of equation for now.

I started thinking about getting a dual sport that is more for on-road riding. Something like a TBR7. I found some dealer listings with free shipping:

https://www.360powersports.com/taotao-tbr7-on-road-highway-229cc-motorcycle-electric-start-kick-start/

https://txpowersports.com/Taotao-TBR7-On-Road-Highway-229cc-Motorcycle-p/taotao-tbr7-250.htm

Are there any other road biased dual sports I should consider?

if you are mainly riding on the street, I would not go dual sport. and vise versa.
