Kick start question

Hello everyone, I recently bought a 2011 Gio X31 250cc dirt bike that needs some work, what I was wondering is, is it possible to just be rid of the battery and use it as a kick start only? I'm not concerned about weight but I'm trying to avoid replacing a lot of wiring if I don't need to as a lot of it appears to ve rotting away. Thanks for any help!

So I can basically remove any wiring dealing with the battery and starter and go from there?

keep the rectifier if you have any lights. You'll need it for those.

I don't have lights, but it's a good idea if I want to add any later, thanks!
