Does anyone know of a site or company that makes the old leather, strap and buckle MX boots with the shin gaurds. I am so bummed, I sold mine years ago thinking I would never need MX boots again. DOH! :) They were broke in and comfy as far as MX boots go. The new ones don't look so comfortable, almost like a ski boot.

For all its worth, I will look around in Mexico for you, the next time I go over for tequila or cigarettes. However, I think quality would be an issue...

I think my MSR (fairly inexpensive) boots are actually pretty comfortable. (bought them about 1 1/2 years ago)

When I got back into riding a few years ago after 17 years off I still had my old Gaerne boots -- they fell apart quickly, so I don't think you want some old boots from ebay... give a new pair a try. (that's my suggestion)

thanks for the input guys, that is why this site is the most stupendously spectaculer, awesomely cool site :) I will think it all over, I did find one pair on ebay for 20 bucks, but I don't even know how to do ebay  the mexico thing sounds cool to, makin a run across the border for the goods, if you come across something get back to me and we can decide from there.

I got my boots off E-bay for $60 bucks, worn twice they look brand new. They have alot more plastic than my old ones but whose to say if thats a bad thing? There are alot of good deals out there and if you don't need them right away you have time to look and compare, just my $.02 Have fun looking, that's what it's all about anyway...

I would say ebay would be your best bet as well. I got an older
pair of Oneal's that were never worn for $40 shipped.

I cant understand the trick to this ebay stuff, ya bid and then the last 5 minutes everyone keeps out bidding me till the time runs out. I dont have time to watch it every second, what is the trick?

Really is no trick, that's kinda how it works...

the trick for ebay would either be to bid in the last couple of seconds or use a service to do that for you -- there are some out there. Personally if I know I'm not going to be around to watch the item end I will just bid my max amount and let it work the way it's supposed to... if someone is willing to pay more than me then they win.

If you're looking at used boots you will probably have the same problem I had when I broke out my old boots -- they just didn't hold up like I hoped. Maybe finding an old NOS pair might be ok - but the older boots used a rubbery backed material to line where the laces are -- that just falls apart with age. There are new boots available for under $100. I'm not saying you have to buy new, just letting you know my experience with my own well taken care of old boots -- I feel the new ones are much better.... beside the MSR's, other new boots usually available cheap are Oneal Element and Thor Quadrant... also consider getting ones with the ATV sole if you want more of a cleet style instead of the smooth mx style.

Try Ridegear.com They have alot of good closeout stuff, thats where I got my gloves from, I think they were $11.99 and they are O'neals, I've seen the same gloves for twice that price on other sites. It's definitly worth checking out...

www.ironpony.com usually has some decent closeouts --- I think last time I was in the store they had Fox gloves for $8
